You can be critical of The U.S. President, but that doesn't mean you hate The United States. This is also true for The British Monarchy, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, & every other country's leaders. Absolutely 💯! We teach this to our kids in essence, that the child is seperate from the behavior. How can criticizing Actions (verbs!) like b0mbing, killing, occupying, be regarded as hatred towards an entire religion. It's the actions of a country that is the problem.

A young relative of mine said Roger Waters was coming to town and he was going to the concert. I said, "Oh, I love Roger Waters." He looked quite surprised and said, "I didn't know you liked that kind of music." I said, "Oh, I've never heard him sing. I love him because of his politics on Israel and Palestine. He thinks exactly the same thing I do and speaks up, as I do. I'm so grateful for him doing that with a public voice." So he took me to the concert.

From a journalistic point of view I’m not really impressed, as the journalist doesn’t challenge Roger Waters, he simply agrees on everything with him. That being said, I’m so happy that Roger Waters got to say the things he said. I wish more people would stand up like that against injustice in general and the world wouldn’t be so profit-driven. What Israel is doing to the people of Gaza, is beyond imagination. My heart cries and there are no words to describe the immense suffering that you must go through now.

Israel is a secular state, the only democratic one in the ME and established according to International Law, not by religious fanatics with the Bible in hand, as Roger suggests. Most Zionists from the beginning were atheists. After 1948 it was attacked four times (cowardly, Yom Kippur) by four Arab states and has since been a constant target of terrorist attacks. ​I can understand that Israel is hitting back hard, but I don't believe that it is hitting disproportionately hard. I also do not believe that Israel deliberately attacks civilian targets. Although public opinion would have us believe that.

Seeing such people around the world raises the hope in my heart that almost gets washed away. I was 13 years old when The Wall album was released, I listened to it from my older sister and fell madly in love with Pink Floyd. Years passed, I was a little sad when Roger left the band, but he proved he did the right thing. I am now 57 years old and he continues to amaze me with everything he does. God, this man is incredibly human and empathetic! Romania prays for Palestine!
