I'm almost hitting 50 and just started a few years ago, I have killed 1 bird that weighed 24.4lbs 9" beard and 1" spur's. I hunt SW Wisconsin only and am hoping with the screwy weather this year that in my season (May 1-7) that the bird's aren't already bread and gobblers are done breeding. What are your thoughts on Wisconsin this year?

It's a bummer Wisconsin has a draw for spring turkey season and you only get 1 week to hunt. I'd choose the earliest possible season. The later it gets the more birds have already bred and don't seem as interested in coming to calls.

Turkeys breed based on the amount of daylight not the weather and the last 3 seasons of Wisconsin are some of the best hunting. Gobblers are out looking hard for hens that still need to be bred, mid morning is best
