Iv got a zafira gsi had it for 4 years 2004 plate been good intill last 6 months just it 100k and done nothing but spend money on her all started going wrong at same time. Had valve seals and head gasket done with cam belt Warter pump new front wheel bearings new discs pads all round front break pipes all corroded so got them done to get her back on the road thinking yeah sorted now. And now think my turbo might need replacing after watching your vid as it's not boosting well at all hesitates when you put your foot down and sometime just holds back and feels flat

So error code is P110612 (map sensor i understand) but now I got Smoke rising from under heat shield in engine bay on cold start and even revving when warmed up. Sorry about essay! I worked in a turbo reman factory and most are scrap lol. I would say 1 in 4 are worth doing. The Landrover disco`s turbo waste valve seats always had cracks.

Hello aaron, got a question for you hope your be able to help. Zafiira gsi and I have a turbo rebuild stage1 hybrid vxr turbo, been having boost problem since own car in. 3 years, have no over boost. 6 psi in 1st and 2nd and even 3rd Max boost is 7 psi sometimes 8psi in 5th, with the rear boost mod done. Any idea mate. Is this right for a let? Never checked inside the manifold as didn’t see video. New boost sensor, new map sensor, new maf. 2.5 sports cat. Have about 4 turns if preload. If I pull pipe off actuator it will boost to 20psi then limp mode only to try, just need some help thanks

hi watched so many of your videos last couple days ! have a z20ler pulls like a tarin still only hit 10 psi full trottle and drops down to 5 mayb any thing to look at 1st? thanks

24/26 psi? Christ lol. Standard is 18 psi down to like 14/15 isn't it? I had a problem with overboosting when I first got my car as the Actuator was wound way up, loosened it off and it never did it again. Very informative video as usual mate!

hi i have a turbo that has 3 cracks in the wastegate seat and they go all the way through would that cause a -25 fuel trim/ p0170 code/ misfire

Hi bud . Iv an Astra 04 2ltr sport van . Iv a knocking noise ? Like somebody hit it with a hammer every 10 seconds or so . This is coming from inside the waste-gate area . No boost . Would you have any idea if this is my problem . Thanks

Got a Z16LET Astra only boosting to .5 bar. Changed BCS, map sensor, actuator, recirc, smoke tested, checked all vac lines, checked penny valve all good. Had a new map loaded onto car. Still nothing. Driving me insane. Thinking maybe the Mani cracked now I've watched this

Where can I get an original gm exhaust manifold at a good price? Also, do I need to port it for stage 3.5?

My turbo has slight movement?? By that I mean i can slightly turn the turbo in the housing? Surly that isn't good..how can I sort it!

This was really helpful, as I've lost boost in 5th and 6th since having the car and I found multiple cracks, I've put it all back together with a new manifold last night, got so excited as nearly done and the top oil feed pipe wont line up, any suggestions?

What causes the turbo to sound like a police siren ?

Have you ever had issues with penny valve geting stuck ? As i have done everything apart from mani Only just started doing this blowen boost pipe off no boost leaks on any pipes but it sounds like it running into the air could penny broken ?

I've got a vxr the turbo was goost so replaced it not has no boost atall the actuator is moving bit no boost

is it okay to spin the turbine without oil? its always teasing me when i have my turbo laying around, but rumors say it damages the turbo...

My manifold the wastegate its self when i grap acturater arm near the wastegate and pull on it it moves a little in and out that meen its f.. K

Yes you have a split diaphragm on you Recirc valve or a vacuum leak causing the recirc valve to malfunction

Check map sensor temperatures when cold. They go faulty and read high which pulls timing

Do these same checks apply for my car not going round to overboost ? Noticed it’s not getting round to 10psi but does hold 7 from what I read off the gauge

Yes mate not sure about oem I doubt it highly lol but it is a stock LET unit going to check for boost and vac leaks tomorrow but I’d have thought it wouldn’t hold 7psi if I had a leak
