Part 2 Vauxhall Astra VXR Mk5 Recirculation Valve Turbo Vacuum Issue
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Part 2 Vauxhall Astra VXR Mk5 Recirculation Valve Turbo Vacuum Issue. Due to an eagle eyed viewer who pointed out that the vacuum pipes to the turbo boost valve were on the wrong way, we were able to correctly rectify this fault as it must have been like this since Gary had bought the car. It just goes to show you that you can't take for granted that the experts in the garages know what they are doing. This car had been seen by many experts and none of them had noticed this issue.

Will be checking my car at some point. I got a lag in power after I took my car to the garage to get a new turbo fitted. I wonder if they fitted the hoses wrong as well. Buzzing to find out
Ha ha that's amazing, I had even other mix in my vxr. Hose from recirculation valve goes to Turbo control unit solenoid and this one from Vacuum control solenoid valve was going to the back of the turbo. I found technical drawing and you guys 100% correct. Thank you guys
An essential great video. Well done lads.
Hi got zafira gsi just had fresh astra engine fitted did this yesterday my flutter is louder thankyou
Brill Video as always, Do the Crossover Pipe Delete, Your heating cold air going over the top of the engine into the intake.
Martin, Good catch by your subscriber. I feel the same why as you about KZread i have had some very handy tips and advice on youtube and e mails that have helped me with my restorations. Great follow up! Take care David.

Yes, I agree Dave Good when it happens and makes up for the stupid comments lol
Great and informative video. This has happened to me as well where comments have assisted with diagnosis of issues and so the videos I've made are well worth the trouble. The only problem I've had is where the armchair experts talk through their back sides to make themselves feel important.

Agreed Dave.
Good to see a part 2 and have the lag sorted. Sounds and runs how it should now. No more what we call "Turkey noise". Most local so called garages even vauxhall don't have a clue when they look at VXRs. If you are looking for the VXR specialists: Courtney Sport Wg Motorworks Rabbid Sm Tuning RnD Motorsport.

Good point about garages I know only too well that Garages can't always fix minor issues that are "intermittent"

It seems to be a common thing, A bit worrying really. I must stress that it's only a few and the majority are probably fine.
Hello I have the same car same colour as your man, could you tell us what the problem what the problem was before you change the parts. I have a problem when I come in to boost it keeps all the boost in the turbo, basically it holds the car back when in boost.I have changed the actuator and now I am about to change the recirculation valve. Hope it solves it. My machanic thinks it might be the coil pack but after watching this video I think it’s this. Let me know what the problem was plz and how it felt.

It had a lag when you pot your foot down and didn't pick up straight away. It was better after fitting the re-circulation valve but as we showed in this video, the pipes were on the wrong way. Changing them over cured the problem.
Has Gary still got the Astra , did you guys ever do an egr valve cleanout vid Martin

Clean hard acceleration all through the rev range as it should be now.
Martin it's called the boost control solenoid. BCS. Common failure on the 1.9cdti too. Causes overboost and limp mode when faulty.

Got to reset that still Dave. it's just in the recorded log of old codes.
If the cheap part your on about was a recirc valve from ebay the seals are rubbish on them but you can buy a forge service kit with good seals and mines been fie since

Haha Pauly, new vid up yesterday, Treacle sponge Mmmm
Got to be honest I don’t have much faith in main dealers sometimes there bloody useless all the do is change brakes and oil now a-days sometimes there servicing is poor too no even removing wheels to check brakes, ive had it several times where they have miss diagnosed stuff and ive fixed it by looking on the transit forum Which is know joke when your in £350 and still got the same problem. Fair play to you lads just have a go same as me not mechanics however with some sensible knowledge you can save a fortune 👍
The recirculation Gary has bought is fine plenty use them. the springs aren't as strong as the forge ones but if they go he can buy the actual forge ones from them for about 25 quid

the problem is catalist system. probably it was melt down and prevent the exhaust gas. So change the catalitic converter or delete it. it is the solution. I had the same problem. And I soved it

Mark Mark that wasn’t the problem in this case. We found a hose that was connected up wrong and even the specialists missed it. Once corrected, problem solved.
