Ad est dell’antica medina si è sviluppata con l’occupazione francese quella che è oggi nota come la Ville Nouvelle: un elegante quartiere costruito durante il periodo coloniale, oggi sede di numerosi caffè, ristoranti e negozi. La città moderna di Tunisi non si limita però a queste sole due aree: la mia passeggiata prosegue dunque attraverso il settore nord della città, passando per un affascinante palazzo del periodo ottomano, per poi terminare di fronte al Lago di Tunisi, in località Les Berges du Lac, per osservare un romantico tramonto!
To the east of the ancient medina, developed with the French occupation what is today known as the Ville Nouvelle: an elegant neighborhood built during the colonial period, now home to numerous cafés, restaurants and shops. The modern city of Tunis, however, is not limited to just these two areas: my walk therefore continues through the northern sector of the city, passing nearby a fascinating palace from the Ottoman period, and then ending in front of Lake Tunis, in Les Berges du Lac, to watch a romantic sunset!
