Tuning Bechstein upright pianos, why 432Hz is spoof and unequal temperament is necessary

The Bechstein uprights sound wonderful when beautifully tuned but the agraffes cause them to require a special technique. If allowed to slip below A440 a pitch raise is necessary and people often ask about using A=432 - it's spoof.

I'm just discovering unequal temperaments because I'm just getting into piano tuning and the difference I hear is incredible. I can't believe we sacrificed the beauty of the piano like this, esp when playing in all keys is still possible with a lot of temperaments
excellent video
I love the unequal temp thanks
Since i use retunable electronic software synths (SurgeXT, Pianoteq and, to a lesser extent, Pigments) i can devise my keyboards on a song-per-song basis, depending on the chords i am using for a given song. I can also decide if a given set of chords will come closer to just intonation or remain in the realm of "looser than strict equal" temperaments. Of course my music is simple from an harmonic standpoint. Beginning of "Fire on the dance floor" is a modified/optimized WerckmeisterIII with some dominant 7th tuned very close to JI. In "Sorcière" i push the tuning towards JI. I understand that kind of music may not be your cuppatea.. but hey!!! We're talking tuning here!!! Cheers.
A440 puts a lot more stress on the instrument.
