I have this watch and the Rolex Explorer 114270. The Tudor’s solid feeling bracelet and clasp, noticeably better lume, and higher water resistance make it a better daily wearer. When I bought it back in 2018 it was about +5/day and now it runs more closer to +1/day. I’m surprised you’re not more disappointed about +30s/day. I have never taken my off its original bracelet, but its 19mm lug width makes it more difficult to find aftermarket straps.

The BB36 is a great daily wear watch for sure. Also, the 114270 is a fantastic looking watch. The +30 does bother me a bit but that isn't too hateful compared to a lot of other watches, but I do wish it were more accurate. I need to see if it's magnetized and get that taken care of if it is

Super late to this but I’m about to pull the trigger on the blue dial 36mm and enjoyed this review. I half buy the argument on the missing AR coating but the flip side is that the AR coating scuffs up a lot more easily than the sapphire. With such a legible dial and handset I am happy to forego the AR. My only real gripe is the protrusion of the crown. It kills the elegance just a little but not a deal breaker. Great video.

my favourite watch is the rolex submariner no date, this thing has a very similar face to a no date sub without the bezel, its actually more versatile because it can double as a dress watch field watch go swimming with it and it has great lume, and doesnt have the ridiculous price of the sub, i bought one, the no date sub is still my favourite watch, but i like this, and thats fine

I bought one of these second hand, and it was -20 seconds pr day, sent it in for service and got it adjusted for free covered by warranty and now it’s on +4 seconds/day. So maybe look into that?

Nice review. I’d say that the lack of AR is probably more of an issue in photos and film than in real life. That dial is so dark and markers so legible it’s easy to read in any light. My biggest issue is that with a 7.25in wrist, the bracelet is slightly too small for me. Rather than order another link, I decided to put mine on a 19mm green single pass strap. It’s very simple, adds to the ‘field’ aesthetic, and looks great when the greenish lume shows itself…

I had the 41mm Black Bay Blue but then I traded it in when I got a PAM380, then I sold it and my 84 16013 two tone Datejust and got a 18038 Day-Date. I have been using my 16040 Submariner as a daily watch in about every place that I go but it is getting a bit valuable and I think a 36mm Black Bay would be perfect. A 36mm Explorer would be the best but they have also risen in value..

The Black Bay 36 really is perfect for everyday wear. Also, I'd love to have an Explorer down the road, but with having the Black Bay I'm not sure I'll need one. Might go the route of an OP36 or Datejust instead. Your 14060 sub is the no date correct? I'd really like to have a no date sub

  • @ChevyBM

I also got a 806 Navitimer from 66 and a new Navitimer World that I got as a present but not use that much be course of its size 46mm that just feels way too big for me. Time keeping should be 10. In the last 8 days mine gained one second, in eight days, total. That is typical. I clock 4 of my watches all the time and my BB36 and BBB/B both keep +/- 1 second or better, and sometimes much better. The Tissot Gentleman also runs very close to this. The BB36 is my favorite watch and gets the most wrist time by far.

@@wehrleyswatchbox7543 the blue dial gentleman was a slow burn for me - absolutely love the styling and performance. Same with the BB36, which I bought as an Explorer stand in, that I now don’t want to replace and have no interest in the Explorer anymore. These could be my only two watches, easy. Demagnetize for sure. You should be able to regulate the BB36 to near perfection and that timekeeping from an automatic movement is really satisfying.

That watch is definitely running within COSC. To be COSC certified it should be running at no more than +6 or -4 a day. If yours is running at +3 then that is well within the tolerances.
