I have the blue dial BB36. The color is stunning, especially with the mint green lume, what a dynamic color combination. I have a 7-1/8” wrist and removed no links, perfect fit. I wear this watch more than any other, absolutely love this one. So legible on a motorcycle, just a quick glance and that snowflake hand says everything. The bracelet is truly a luxury experience, Rolex/Tudor have the oyster bracelet perfected. Thanks for the video, I agree with you on the merits of this watch. Cheers!

I bought my BB36 in 2017 and it also came with the nato strap. I noticed the exact same issue! Great advice on how to prevent the spring bar from revealing itself.

Well said about the bracelet! I have a 7.25” wrist and love the size of the BB36 but the bracelet (and the included nato) is too small for everyday wear. So I’ve put mine on a single pass green webbing strap which gives it more of a field watch aesthetic, and matches the lume nicely. As you mentioned, removing the spring bars on the bracelet is an absolute pain, I’ll definitely be buying the Bergeon you referenced as an investment in future time and effort. Great information in your video. I have the 41 and love it! Granted I have larger wrist. So I think if someone wants one go for it. They are the same as the 36 just larger.

I've got this finally after months of debating and fighting which to go for. Originally set on the 1926 and then seen this and was in love. Tested how a bb58 would look and personally this one just spoke to me more and I love it. I think I will go for a standard 58 next or may even get a vintage tudor next. The thing i love about tudor is as apposed to rolex you really do have the freedom to explore the brand and have a very high quality peice.

This is so true about the size and the same applies for the Rolex DJ36. There's something so elegant and classy about a 36mm watch. Especially if your wrist is my size (6.5 inch). The BB36 is currently my daily wear. Also, in mine the time keeping us within 1s/day which seems to be the same for many owners of Tudor. In the next 3 years, I feel like the Tudor brand is going to catch Omega for status and this piece could be a future icon, especially if they discontinue it. Regardless I'm happy to wear mine daily.

I just saw the new BB 41/36/32 silver dial. They looks amazing. I don't know how you feel about the gold and silver 58s but I found them interesting. Can we expect precious metal pieces in other models? Love your videos. Keep up the good work 👍🏾

Awesome review. I am waiting for a blue dial 36 from my AD. If it takes too long I might still settle for the black. I find the blue to be just a little but more interesting and offers a bit more contrast compared to shiny steel on shiny black of the black dial.

It used to be that you just walk up to the AD and ask for the largest discount you can get. Now you need to wait for the BB36 you want! Times changed.

@@QuartzCrisis very much so. In fairness, my local AD in Belfast could offer me a black dial right away but I’d never forgive myself for buying the black without at least seeing the blue first. There is a shapeshifting quality to the blue with colours ranging from almost black to very blue depending on the light.

This was always one I was on the fence about getting one day, but now the silver dial version is out I'm sold!

@@ogotuwaobuto5366 There's no thing like a too small watch. Only too big. The 41 looks pretentious to me. Those 36mm watches are more of an understatement. Heck, I'm looking to get a Rolex OP ref. 15200 that is 34mm and it looks very classy that way. In the past, no one discussed their wrist size. 34-36mm was normal and anyone with any wrist size could wear it!

I have an 8 inch wrist and the Black Bay 41 (which I own) is PERFECT on my wrist. People should buy the watch that connects with them best. Good content, other than your polarising opinions…!

I had bb36 and it was just too small for me. Got bb41 blue since and I know I made a mistake buying bb36 in the first place. Take with a pinch of salt anything that KZreadrs say :)

Fantastic review! It's nice to see the long-term reviews that are made well after the honey moon phase is over. I'm really on the fence with this watch. I currently have a Seiko SRPE61 sitting on a brown leather strap that fills the role as an everyday wearer, much as the BB36 would. Yes I know the build quality is incomparable, but the grey sunburst dial of the SPRE really moves me and Seiko has a proven track record. Plus, this watch has sub +5 sec/day accuracy. Your thoughts?!

Did you end up getting a new watch. I was also looking at that Seiko SRPE61 but after having a Tudor Black Bay 58, I knew that I would deep down really long for the BB36 if I got the Seiko. If you’re still thinking about getting it I highly recommend it. I love it more than I did my black bay 58. The 36 size feels so classy and easy to wear. I was sold once I tried it on at the store with the bracelet.

Anyone know what size of screwdriver I need to use on a Tudor Black Bay 36 bracelet screws? Do I really need to remove the bracelet from the watch before I heat up to soften the loctite? Is it best to use a hollow ground screwdriver head? Many thanks in advance

I've just checked. 1.2mm watchmaker's screwdriver fits the best. No need to remove the bracelet for removing the link

I have this watch for 3 days, bought brand new from AD, it's 2022 production. No extra nato strap included, but I don't mind. I have similar wrist like you, asked local watchmaker to help me to remove one link under 6 o'clock, it fits me perfectly now on the max microregulation pin. The bracelet is so fantastic that I don't consider to remove it so soon. The only thing that bothers me a little is, that the first link from the clasp on the 6 o'clock side doesn't move freely in the whole range and causes preventing of embracing the wrist closely, makes a free space under, you know what I mean... but it appears only when I turn the watch face to look at the dial... but can live with it. I found no better and more suitable small watch for me in that price range ... I don't mind ETA/Sellita, I absolutely love the dial and case shape. This is the watch for me...

I agree with you, it's hard to find a better modern watch for our wrist size in this price range. But if we look at the vintage then it's a completely different story. 3k is a lot for a vintage watch. You can get an absolute grail. See my 2nd most recent video.

I currently wanted a modern watch with uncompromising build quality and small traditional size and the BB36 seemed to be the best option (considering my budget). I'd like to ask you if you still regularly wear your BB, and how about wear and tear of the components liked spring bars. Still ok or have you had to change some of them already? I found out it's pretty hard to get original parts for Tudor watches...

@@QuartzCrisis as far as I know, the bracelet springbars are slightly shorter and perhaps 1.78mm thick, the strap springbars are longer and I don't know if thicker also. But problem is, that they are unable to get anywhere online. But what I don't know (and you will) is, how long will approximately last the original ones in a good condition and when it's time to consider the change for new ones (plan to wear the watch daily most of the time). And how about the clasp spring bar which is used for micro regulation? Have you had to change this also? Does it wear and tear a lot when using micro adjustment often? I know, the world nowadays suffers from billion times worse problems, but in "my small watch world" this problem with unavailability to get original replacement parts, for bracelet also, a little bit bothers me...

@@ivanvalko9621 only AD can get those original Tudor springbars for you. I broke mine because of stupidity, I'm sure yours will last at least 10-20 years. I get springbars in vintage watches that are 50+ years old and they still work great (but if I can I replace them anyway)

I have one and it wears fine on my 7.25 wrist. Also you do not need to remove any links if you have a 7.25 wrist as it fits right out of the box with just putting the bracelet on the last pin adjustment. I tried on the 41mm and although it fits well I prefer the vintage vibe of the 36mm. As for bracelet removals I just filed down the tip on one of my standard spring bar tools to have a thinner tip and it works fine to remove the bracelet, no need to waste money on a Bergeon tool.

Thank you for the info that BB36 bracelet is still ok for 7.25 wrist. I'm sure it will be super helpful for people who consider the watch. But I can't recommend using the springbar tool the way you did ;)

@@QuartzCrisis As long as you have skill from being used to removing bracelets it's fine its about technique. I can remove the bracelet in less than 1 minute using my cheap spring bar tool. Also I tape the lugs with sellotape to stop scratching the inner lugs.

My wrist is 7 inches and 41 looks much better than 36 mm. Glad Tudor makes 41 mm.

For those of us w/much larger wrists, the 36mm looks like a kids' watch on our wrists. Having an 8" wrist, the 41mm is a much better version for me. Too each their own and I'm glad we have choices. :) The reason I don't own a Rolex Explorer is they're too small.

Muhammad Ali wore a Cartier tank that was much smaller than a bb36 (as were the watches of most men during that era); what is too small is definitely much more a function of preference than one of wrist size

@@Cheeseiest1 I don't disagree... the 39/40mm Rolex Sub was a huge watch back in the day. But again, it's a personal preference and not too long ago 44-47mm Panerai watches were my thing, now I'm more of a 40/42mm and thin cases are my sweet spot. Who knows what will happen in 10 years. :)

Horofix makes a springbar tweezers much like the Bergeon 7825. I own both. The Horofix is $90 compared to the Bergeon $150. The Horofix is every bit as good. I bought the Horofix first, then the Bergeon thinking it would be better--it's not.

I bought Horofix first and I regret it, the quality is not as good. I had to replace the forks to Bergeon forks, they are I believe $20 each. I'm still using my Horofix with Bergeon forks, but I regret I cheapened out and didn't buy Bergeon first.

At first I was just looking for a cheaper Rolex Explorer and ended up with SBGX. I'm afraid I don't have the knowledge or experience to buy vintage. Also, buying from Europe means pretty much an import from Japan? Would you still recommend 45GS to a newb??

@@axxo I do recommend vintage to newbs. This is what this channel is about. I have several very good videos on how to buy vintage GS and what to look for. But if you never ever owned vintage start very cheap, you'll make mistakes. But it's fan, do learn from the mistakes.

I own the Rolex OP and the BB36. There are some similarities but the Rolex cost me four times as much

Great video, thumbs up given! It's so funny that we have the same exact opinion ... but for the reverse products. I own and love my Tudor BB41 and when asked I tell everyone not to buy and stay away from the BB36, it's useless, don't waste your money unless you're getting a gift for a female. Don't even know why Tudor bothered making them ... unless that was their target audience. And now that you've mentioned it, it makes more sense that you only had to remove one link to size it. I had to remove three links from my 41 and probably could have removed another for cold weather wear.

The bracelet of BB36 was way too short in circumference when I tried it on at an AD.

Yeah I was quite shocked to recieve no spare links with my blue bb36. It fight me perfect out the box, on the middle micro adjust too! It was almost like it was meant to be haha

Was thinking the same. I had bb36 and have 19cm wrist and it just looked like my son’s watch. Flipped it since and got bb41 and I’m much happier with this one. Don’t listen to KZreadrs, most of the time they know less than you 😂

I've had the 41 for 2 years, and I will never part with it. The proportions are way better that the 36. The increased breathing space and proportionally smaller indices give it a more traditional, timeless feel. People only say the proportions are wrong because they've been looking at the 36 (which looks all wrong to me, too bold and cluttered). Ultimately though just pick the one that looks good on your wrist.

Tudor black bay 36 blue or breitling chronomat 36 blue? And why?

I don't have as much knowledge on chronomat as I do on BB36. I would definitely recommend BB36 blue, but have no opinion on the breitling. It doesn't mean it's bad, I just don't know

The only way that may happen, is if Tudor creates an in-house movement for the bb36! Don't hold your breath, just buy for keeps!

Ill be holding out untill they update the model. I hope they use the new case from the updated BB36 S&G. It looks very different compared to this case style.

@@QuartzCrisis yeah very true, the older Rangers are stunning, love the golden brown patina you can get on those dials. I just think the combo of the updated sliding clasp, a jubilee bracelet and Kenissi movement could make the BB36 a amazing daily driver.

Spot on the BB41...too big for its own good. They have should made it 39 mm for people in need for a larger version. BB36 is perfect...have a 114270 Explorer still lusting after a BB36.

I was looking at this and the Royal but after watching a few videos I literally won’t support the brand! First the movement… sure it’s regulated well but a 2824? Seriously? Not for that price! Then the bracelet fitting/ changing….horrific and gives me (naturally) Rolex vibes! I think a brand of this calibre can be expected to include the most basic things that (movement aside) watches 400€ and up have! When did we stop to look for actually value in a timepiece? I understand that some prestige comes with a brand name and that we pay a little extra but I think we should still have high standards for them!! So no Tudor, thank you, I’ll keep searching ;)

If you're looking for value you not gonna find it in modern watches. Value is in vintage and that's what this channel is about. There are a lot videos about super cool vintage watches here that are a tremendous value.

You failed to mention how accurate the watch was over the 3 year period. Bit of an oversight given the basic purpose of any watch. How easy is it to find suitable replacement hands given how bloody awful the stock ones are ? Bracelet removal tool available for £35 from China via fleabay. Still expensive for what it is but far better than the ridiculous amount demanded by Tudor.

...and both are 36mm, both have black dial, oystercase, both are made by the same parent company, both are steel sports watches on an oyster bracelet, both have screw down crown that's signed, both ....and so on ;)

A black bay does not have a oyster case, a black bay does not have a oyster bracket. The steel is not the same as a Rolex Explorer. It is a totaly different movement. Tudor are great watches but they are not a Rolex.

They do have a lot in common as you mentioned. I like them better because the movement is easily serviced and they even have better clasps than the old Rolex 36mm models. Rolex brought back the explorer in 36mm because the Tudor sold so well.

@@richlander5874 Of course it's not a Rolex. That's why it is not the same price ! The Tudor have a fantastic Oyster case (150m) and bracelet. Not the same steel and lower grade movement. But for the price, hell of a watch !
