    I was aware of this as a 'Symphony with a Good Tuba Part' but it is more, exploring the range of the tuba without gimmicks, I enjoyed every minute the contrasts of colour in orchestration with the assurance of John Fletcher as the soloist, a real treat. Another Bravo!

    I played this for my final recital at the RCM and spoke in detail with Derek Bourgeois about the piece for programme notes. At the time he told me Fletcher was the only person who he had heard play it in a public setting.
