First bike I learned on. 250 ready in 2 weeks. That was the first bike I bought so I feel this brother. Tell her to gas it man, you aren’t learning in first gear!

Had loads of bikes over the years, but so far the TTR is my favorite! Maybe I'm just old now, but there's just something to appreciate about a bike that demands so little and gives so much. Fire up and ride all day no frills, bs or radiators to bust open if you lay it down on the rocks or sticks. Nothing simpler than an air cooled four stroke. It's an absolute beast on technical single track trails.

Wait until she gets the FMF full exhaust, new jetting, high flow air filter, and 3 teeth up on the rear sprocket. It's opens up the TTR-230 bike immensely...I owned one for a few years, but one of the downsides is the extremely soft suspension. Its a great trail bike but hit a few jumps with it and watch how fast the suspension bottoms out. Its like a spring board...lol

Pete she’s really not interested in getting a ton of air! But I will tell you I left it kind of corked up so it would be a little more docile while she was getting used to it. Will slowly get it up a little bit more power as she gets more comfortable.

@@keithb2461completely understandable. I'm 5 11 and 190 pds. so I needed to do the upgrades to cart me around lol. They are a great bike and very reliable when serviced consistently. I'm now looking into a used 4 stroke 450cc at a good price...

She kicks butt for only the 4th time out! My girl friend has expressed interest in riding so I'm doing research on bikes, cool to see a video at a local riding spot. I heard you say she was flat footed on the 125. Is she able to flat foot the 230 as well?

Yes she can on the 230, but she is about 5'8" tall with long legs. When I ride the TTR230 i can defiantly notice the difference in seat height. Even if your GF can flat foot the 230, its so much less intimidating learning on the 125. Linda was very glad she did the riding class on the smaller bike. gave her more confidence.

By the way OP, dude there is nothing “squirrelly” about this bike brotha. Relax, feel the bike out, rip it a bit. Punch it to 6th gear. That’s how you get better. Putting around in 1st and 2nd gear is fun….send her wide brother

Yamaha nunca mejoro su modelo TTR230 por eso fue un fracaso en cambio la CRF230F de Honda fue todo un éxito.
