Unfortunately, I personally never played pes4. I used to watch my family play it but I wasn't allowed to touch it back then. The only memory I have of pes4 is the memory of longing to play it.

I remember the first time i played it after pes 3 and the graphics were the best of the ps2 era. I can never forget R. Carlos’s shiny scalp 🤣😂

My first ever pes game. I had so much fun with this game as a kid. Spent hours in the edit mode. My favorite game to play was ac Milan vs inter. I was super impressed with how San Siro looked.

My favourite memory of pes 4 was the amount of time I spent editing kits for teams including sponsors. I even made the championship league for fun. Scored some absolute worldies and every Goal felt you earned it. What a game!

PES3 is superb as well, would love to see you try that. I think the overall balance they achieved with the AI on that game was the closest they ever got to perfection. Even better than the brilliant PES5 which had slightly tame attacking AI. I still play the PC versions of both of them today though, they're the strongest in the series imo. Plus the ball physics on 3 are just lovely.

@@dinecas5002 Totally agree. PES5 and 6 seem to be the favourites on PS2 but I much prefer PES3.

Pes1 to pes6 happiest years of my life

Should try FIFA 2005 next, since it came at around the same time as PES 4.

It was the last FIFA that I enjoyed, but mostly because of its career mode. The last FIFA I enjoyed in terms of gameplay was 2003.

Next up PES 5 then 6 and so on up to PES 15 or 16 Ricky. I’ve only ever played a pre 2000s PES and I’m interested to see how the game progressed, so I can only ask if it’s possible mate👍🏼

I loved the keepers, i dont know why i really liked the way they played. Great game.

Football these days doesn't have that much STAR power like This Era... too many standouts BUT nowadays, players seems more blended in...

This was the first football game I ever played. Played against my cousin who owned it. I was Man United and he was Barcelona. It went to penalties and I won it. He was raging because he played it all the time and failed to beat me.

Great game I enjoyed this and PES 5 still play that one on Xbox 360 via BC. PES 6 on PS2 is still a great game as well, loved the way the older games played fast, fun, responsive and a proper ML with Minanda, Costalo, Ordaz and company for a real challenge playing as them instead of the real team players on 5 star difficulty.

This is so classic and a major throwback in my life

PES 5/WE 9 was THE game for me back then...

1st pes i ever played and never looked back. I still reckon 5 was the best one ever made.

I'd much rather play this than PES21 don't get me wrong, I still play PES21 but it gets very boring quickly. If you could take some of the modern animations into this game it would be great as a remaster along with fixing the floaty crosses and the flight of the shots. Still, it's personal choice. Try International superstar soccer 2 and 3, FIFA 7 is really good FIFA 9 on the PS2 is a more polished version of 7.

Should try ISS 2000 on the good old N64 Pro evo back in the good old days. It had a role playing mode basically living your life as a footballer and it still plays a good game of football now.

Try ISS Pro Evolution Soccer 2, you can get it on rom with PS1 emulator for PC, still plays great, slower, better tempo and AI are tough and fun to play.

Would rather play this remastered than pes 202O or fifa 21, at least this was fun, was far more difficult and rewarding than the modern games as well. Didn't even need the licenses was just a great game to play, still remember being 4-1 down somehow to rangers (if memory serves) in the master league and coming back to win 5-4 with a header right at the death, 12 year old me celebrated like I'd won the world cup 😂

It was some update for games before the next winning eleven/pes come out, they called it final evolution.

You should try Winning Eleven 3 on PS1.

What I think about this is "I feel so OLD" and I should have atleast 3 kids by now 🤣🤣🙈

this was the first pes i played it was called we8i, real madrrid had so many world class offensive players in this i was confused whom to start in ML,I had put max hrs in this game it had everything like payers receving medals,the arrow thing in gameplan i miss this ,can u tell me a legit site to buy or download this for pc ??

if you buy master league composition from pes shop then you can start in top division. may I request, if you don't mind please try PES 2006-07 Season Downgrade mod for pes 2021.

"gut the penalty system, find something that works, and then just leave it alone". - I think they found something that works, which is why it's been pretty similar for last 17 years! ;-) (just look at FIFA this year, awful penalty system).

PS: Some folks over here in Nigeria still play this, like a lot.

Would you look at that! Players not needing 3 whole seconds to turn with the ball, headers looking powerful, shots across goal actually going in and not massively wide with a weird animation. Goalkeepers make good saves and aren't useless! Pace of the game is perfect too. Funny how much this game has gone backwards, would prefer to play this on my PS5 instead of 2021 if it was available with online!!

I think it maybe seems faster because of playing on widescreen. Thats why they all look fat and short, but this has the essence of pes, smarter AI, more control, more response, players not running away from the ball, goals not set up by comedy lottery defending and deflections into the path of players konami choose. Then Pes 5 blew it out the water,
