Thank you TopDog! My issue when I first got this system, was how everything worked and what everything was. I watched other videos, but just wasn't getting my questions answered. I hope people now know what each part does and how to use it, in addition to the quality you get for the price tag. I look forward to the next video when I can show how to sharpen a knife with it. I hope you have a great weekend, my friend. Relaxe and be well, brother👊👊

You are very welcome brother! I put a lot of thought into sharing with this one. It's gratifying to know that it is appreciated 👊👊. This is one of those items that you want to tell everyone just to save until you can afford it, because it is just so good. I can't see the need for another sharpener, after having this one. The long stones, the clamps, the heaviness of the base that keeps it still, and the ease of use, are just amazing. It was intimidating when I got it, but once I figured it out, I was in heaven. I feel very fortunate that I could share what I've learned about this one. You are most welcome!

Very easy to understand explanations, in depth but not so deep you get lost in the details for a long time, and still convey a coherent and deliberate point! Definatly a well designed piece of machinery that makes it easy to get consistent edges. I learned how to freehand at first and for some knives it's still my favourite way but a guided system makes it easy to sharpen. This one is priced on the high side but you do get what you pay for quality wise. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

One day I might level up, but right now I'm focused on brunch: turkey kielbasa, gouda cheese, dried cherries, and cracked black pepper over a bed of baby spinach greens with lime vinaigrette, side of raw carrots, washed down with a Rip-It Energy Drink, Tribute Edition (active mandarin, live wild lime, sugar-free). *I have this type of sharpener, but not such good quality.* *I think of these systems as training wheels, good for learning the dynamics of blade sharpening.* *Or for people that want precise results, without having to learn a valuable skill-set.* *There are many reasons to own several different types of sharpening systems; some people manufacture blades, or have a sharpening business, doing work in volume.* *I am a guy who owns a few, but varied sizes of blades, and don't mind taking the time to do a correct sharpening of a particular edged tool.* *I own folders, and small fixed blades like you, but also have large Kukuris, odd shaped Karambits, long Machetes, Axes, etc. that need the expertise, or simple knowledge of natural wet stone use.* *So for me, I feel that once you're good at sharpening with natural wet stones, you've learned a wilderness survival skill-set, good for keeping a blade sharp with minimal baggage, or devises.* *One could have a multi-textured piece of Jade, or Jasper, on a necklace, or in your pocket, ready for use in the field, and not rely on a system to rejuvenate an edge.* *I would refer like-minded "bladers" to; **NaturalWhetstoneSharpening.com** - and his KZread channel FYI; **kzread.infovideos* *So anyway, It's not worth it to me to spend $500.00 on a system, which is able to sharpen many relatively small blades quickly, and precisely, when I only use one blade at a time (I'm in no rush).* *But I do think this tool is great for someone who gets paid to sharpen smaller blades, and in that capacity, it's worth the $500.00 start up cost, which will be absorbed by future profits.* *Maybe some entrepreneur can start up a small business using this tool.(?)* *Thanks for the review.👍*

I have a Lansky system that is ok although with limitations and therefore I had to learn to use hand stones. Now, I do a full sharpening with the system only if really need it and hone and strop manually to maintain the edges. I would really like to own this system though. Thanks for the review out of the confort zone.

This system is amazing, I don't know something like this is worth it for everyone but is definitely worth it to me. Now just think how much better it could be with some premium stones. I went with the veneev set with the aluminum backing. Or you can get the atoma diamond set which is really good too. The diamond stones it came with are OK for a cheap get you buy set ( there like 45 dollhairs) on Amazon. If anyone buys this system, the next step is to save for a premium set of stones. It will cost between 250 & 300 for the good stones but the difference is incredible.

It's definitely solidly built and you get pretty much everything you need no need to purchase any extra ad ons. The only thing for me is this. The price is a bit steep. Unless you are going to star up a knife sharpening service imo there are more affordable options out there for the budget minded knife owner. I base my thoughts on just how often would I actually be using the system? Other than that its definitely a winner.

Very cool I use a KME with all the bells and whistles works great for me though I have to agree this system looks better built but both systems cost alout and I’ve made my investment and I’m happy enough with the KME I can do broadheads serrations convex blades regular blades scissors axes and I bought a digital angle guide so I don’t have to use markers and know my exact angle I went all out on the extras and stones etc which was not cheap probably invested $700 plus on the KME system. I would of liked seeing it in action though kind of a bummer still a very cool system my friend

Yes sir, sounds like you are set up! Yeah, I was going to keep going and show how to sharpen with it, but then the video would have been so long that nobody would have watched it 😅. I figured part 2 would be good for a sharpening video. The main thing for me, was when I got this system I did not see a video out there that explained everything in detail, in a way that I understood. That was the hard part for me. Just understanding it all. Now I have a angle finder, and reprofile like a madman 😆. I hear a lot about KME, and hope to try that in the future too. Thank you brother 👊. You are much appreciated!

Have a great weekend!

Great tutorial, Beez! This fixed-angle sharpener is like my Work Sharp sharpener but on steroids! What a sweet and precision machine this is. If I had an extra $500 bucks laying around, I’d buy this sharpener today! But since I don’t, it’s something I’ll be saving up for. Gotta have it! I noticed in the comments that some of us have the Work Sharp sharpener and it definitely works well but it’s cheap. The body is molded plastic and very light, so you have to hold it down. The angle adjustment doesn’t lock in position and I found that it will change angles if you’re not holding that as well. So now my left hand is dedicated to locking in the angle and keeping the whole contraption from tipping over. (Not ideal but I’m used to dealing with crap) I’ve made some improvements that cost me nothing but time. First, I mounted the base to a piece of heavy 1/2 inch sheet steel. (We have tons of scrap steel at work, so that was free) I bought some rubberized grip tape for the bottom of the steel base so that it won’t slide and scratch the hell out of whatever surface it’s on. Now it’s heavy and stable. Next, was tackling the lack of an angle lock. Everyone who has one of these sharpeners is familiar with the thumb screw on top that adjusts the angle up or down while the guide rod rides along a vertical worm-screw. Nothing locks your chosen angle in place and it will drift while you’re sharpening. (I learned this the hard way) I’d set the angle at 20 degrees, went through the three grits on the stone and my knife was duller than when I started. The angle adjustment had changed itself by a few degrees each way, creating a crappy inconsistent edge. (Glad I tested this thing on my cheapest knife first) That’s when I began holding the angle screw and pinching it so it wouldn’t move at all. Problem solved, right? Still a pain the ass with an easy solution. I cut a wedge out of plastic that fit between the smooth guide rod and the body of the sliding track. Once my angle is set I push the wedge into the space between the plastic piece that rides on the smooth rod and the body. Now my angle is locked. This sucker ain’t moving. To adjust the angle, pull out the wedge, change the angle, and lock it in with the wedge again. Wait, there’s more. The “button” on the back of the sharpener that allows you to flip the knife clamp around to the opposite side, requires approximately 500 pounds of pushing force against the spring and it still doesn’t work. This is the easiest of all adaptations so far. Ignore the crappy button and pull the knife clamp out of its magnetic seat, flip the knife over and click it back in. Now this $50 dollar sharpener works like a charm. All my knives are now spooky sharp. When you buy a cheap piece of plastic knife sharpener, buckle up for some fine-tuning. I actually enjoy solving problems and making stuff that claims to work perfectly and then MAKING it work perfectly. Great brain exercise. Still, I’m saving up for this $500 dollar sharpener that Beez showed us. For now, my improved WorkSharp sharpener does its job and won’t last very long. The sharpener in this video is well worth the money and will last forever without having to Frankenstein every problem a cheap piece of plastic requires to function properly. Take care, love your knives, and don’t let anyone tell you it’s an obsession. You already knew that. Peace, be safe everyone. 🤙🏼

Dude. That was spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your journey with the Work Sharp. I know a lot of have bought plastic pieces to go under the blade clamp, clamps to put it on a table, aftermarket Stone holders, and the things that you mentioned. Knowing what I know now, it would have been worth saving up some money to get maybe a little more sturdy of a system. I may do a review of the Work Sharp precision adjust in the future. I don't want to dog it, because it works great if you take extra steps and learn how to hold it steady and add the aftermarket parts. After using the blitz pro, I now know what a good sharpener with no hassles feels like. It is truly amazing. Thank you so much for your input! Here's to a wonderful week ahead my friend 👊🐝

@@BeezBlades, Thank you my friend. That was a fun one to write. It’s challenging to describe things that are visual in nature and that makes it fun. You could easily draw a picture or make a video SHOWING what you’re trying say, but comment sections don’t allow that and for good reason. Imagine what a mess the comment section would be if that was an option? So you’re stuck thinking how to visualize something mechanical with only using words. A little common frustration and humor hopefully draws the reader into agreement. The sharpener you showed here made all of us knife-lovers drool with envy. But most of us are stuck with the Work Sharp or something much worse. I actually love the Work Sharp now that I’ve fixed it. It’s the best sharpener I’ve ever had. Zero complaints that I haven’t already addressed. Your idea of doing a review of the Work Sharp is a good one. It’s not trash, it’s just not perfection, and it’s what most of us can easily afford. The aftermarket parts (I didn’t know about) would help anyone who isn’t so mechanically inclined, make the Work Sharp, actually work. I thought about the clamping system to hold the thing down, but not every surface lends itself to that and I wanted mine portable. The steel plate for a base makes it easy to sit on any surface without marring it. If I had a shop or garage, I’d simply screw the thing down to a work-bench. Anyway, it’s a great little affordable sharpener and well worth 50 bucks. I think of it as a step to something much better in the future. I’m sure everyone who has one thinks this too. Baby steps, baby steps. Just like your reviews on budget- friendly knives that appeal to us of average peasantry, the cheap Work Sharp will as well. It may be difficult getting WORK SHARP to sponsor a review if you’re being completely honest about it though. That’ll be tricky but doable. Maybe just explain that it’s a lot better and more precise than sharpening by hand and there’s a few things that can make it perfect. Anyway, I’m still saving for that exquisite sharpener but I’m very happy with my Frankensteined Work Sharp. Take care my friend and have a great end of the weekend. Aloha.🤙🏼

This system seems like a good compromise vs. the super high end TS Prof systems. It seems expensive at first glance until I add up the sum of all my Spydercos or look at what I've spent on Kizers in the past 6 months. I've known about these for a while and know they come highly recommended. I trust your reviews a bit more since you're willing to admit you're still fairly new to knife collecting and don't try to b.s. us and act like an expert.
