remember that team switched was gonna remake underswap in 100% the same fashion as undertale, meaning we could of gotten the exact introduction of sans and papyrus just in their swapped positions it's a good call they decided to make this take in their own way when they realized it

One thing I’m surprised nobody has brought up yet is that Sans’ ATTACKS are perfectly in character pacifist/neutral. It’s full of tricks, optical illusions, pranks, fake-outs, Sans manipulating the ACT MENU?!?!?!?!?! It is literally the PERFECT take on a pacifist Sans fight and nobody can tell me otherwise.

Sorry if I’m kind of late, but Sans’s characterisation in this fangame is phenomenal. His jokes, his antics, his menacing moments and insults when you go on a violent path, the mystery behind him, his sense of justice, and his love for his brother made his character interesting in Undertale, and I’m glad the team didn’t forget to add any of these traits to him in this fangame.

I'm just so happy TS!Underswap only changed the characters roles in the story and not their personality. It leads to some amazing characters (Crossbones obviously, but Swap!Chara is also very cool)

I for one am very curious as to how they’ll portray Napstablook assuming he’ll be a robot but with the same depressed personality he had in OG Undertale. Undyne though? I am genuinely excited for since I do think you can take her OG personality and put it into a scientist role.

I've literally been daydreaming about this. My interpretation for the genocide fight is that Chara killed Crossbones (The heroic figure) but Sans is still alive so he teams up with Papyrus (like in Rejuvenation) to spare the human or what not but then he eventually dodges in the way of Papyrus, sacrificing himself. Then Papyrus becomes disbelief

the fact that TS underswap does a perfect neutral sans fight.

My favorite thing about ruthless is how it seems like sans dialogue is setting up some crazy, 4th wall breaking timeline and gaster stuff, until he reveals he was pulling it out of his ass.

I like how sans still acts like sans and not an 8 yearold

I unironically spared Crossbones in my Ruthless run. I got what I deserved and decided that's where my run ends.

TS!underswap has grown on me ngl , all the chars are amazing and the routes are incredible and doesnt make sans the main monster willing to kill you , the journal is fire , and the tematics are original 11/10 goated

Honestly I have a suspicion that Crossbones might be sans, I dunno, similar builds tbh

if crossbones didn't save harry and larry for the first time, the human would've gained more LV faster but I wish crossbones came when larry and harry were cornered because both are really interesting characters.

In the Ruthless Route, there is a way to spare Crossbones. All you have to do is miss every attack on him. If this happens, the game will continue on as an Evacuation Route instead.

It's honestly a really interesting absolute last moment 'abort the geno run' moment, even Crossbones is so bewildered by it, it might be the most confused or vulnerable he seems, as he can't quite deny that you had every opportunity to attack him but you purposefully missed. Showing your genuine intent but absolutely won't just forgive you afterwards. I'd be really curious how the rest of the game progresses from that kind of thing.

I can't get enough of Crossbones, I'm hyped for the phonecalls of him. Think of the amount of things he would say.

I remember when I finally beat sans on the ruthless route, I was screaming but still had my hands on the keyboard….the second I saw that last blaster my heart stopped. I did dodge it but if I haven’t I would have gone rogue lmao

I hope when they do the mines demo part we see more of papyrus to flesh him out and perhaps see crossbones in genocide since its pretty obvious he didnt die Also give you hell with earphones has a part of the theme you wont hear unless you turn it way up

My only gripe with Crossbones is how little time time he spend ALONGSIDE Koffin-K. We spend a good time with both but sadly we couldn't see their rivalry to it's maximum potential. It would have been funny and cool.

I don't quite like Crossbones's reaction to you fighting Muffet, because she's actively trying to murder you AND your friends. Sure, we the players may or may not know Crossbones could escape but how would anyone without that knowledge react? Muffet didn't seem to, nor did even Papyrus. It can be assumed judging by Papyrus here vs a pacifist fight that in the latter, the escape was planned while Muffet was distracted, while here Crossbones simply watched. I feel like the Evac fight does a better job at a "don't kill people" message. Actually, that fight has my favorite set of dialogue from sans/Crossbones because it feels down to earth and patient without being finger-waggling. I like the rest of the character, as well as the rest of TS!US, the goons being my favorite characters there, but that's kinda an easy choice.

Gosh I love this Sans. It makes sense if Sans was in Papyrus' role, he would absolutely play the role of Vigilante aka Superhero. He works undercover now and basically suits Sans well. He's not into attention unlike Papyrus. He doesn't care about the Royal Guard Nonsense. I'm sure he might be bored with a Royal Guard life. And it suits him because Sans is an enigma. We never learn about his personal life beyond keeping a promise and his support for his younger brother Papyrus. When Sans sacrifices his life for Papyrus its sad but kind of hopeful because he believes in his brother to stop the player from ending Monsterkind. He maybe ridiculous but underneath Crossbones is the best AU verison that respects yet differentiates from his original counterpart. Also I believe a vigilante life will suit Sans. He does punish the criminals but he isn't a brutal one like the Punisher. I think he plays Spiderman aka Peter Parker, a hero who has the greatest responsibility and help people. Both are silly and jokesters in order to balance their struggles. But if you mess with Peter Parker's loved ones like how you mess with the monsters. Sans and Peter Parker will not give you MERCY. But hey at least Sans isn't as boring as Deku from MHA or gets tormented like how Marvel torments poor Peter in the comics....

My favorite AU Sans is the one from Keno9988's Storyspin. There is ALOT of cool stuff about him, even if there's barely stuff for him.

Ironically this is where I got tired of sans as a character. The overpowered judge shtick was tired and played to me by this point, and the hype around all the time never helps. This was the game that pushed me to the edge into being a bonafide sans hater, I don’t hate the character as the writing is great, but I hate him as an entity in the Undertale cast.

The best sans is dust sans (except hes just a pile of dust)

Honestly, my only real problem with underswap is that it's trying too hard to set itself apart from a regular swap take. Like... The game is good, REALLY good, but a lot of it feels like it was made with the goal of being something different first. At some point i kinda felt like the game was just going "see? See? We're a UNIQUE swap take!" Over and over like yeah you're different i, get it ,you can stop now. Again, this doesn't outright make the game any worse, i just feel like calling this a swap feels... wrong, somehow. (No idea why i wrote this on a random video about crossbones, guess i just wanted to voice my thoughts out?)

It is a Swap take. Just not canon swap. They aren’t trying to be different just to be like, “look how different we are from normal swap”, they just want keep the characters in character for their swap take, and yes, they want to do unique stuff too. A common theme I'm seeing with ut fan works nowadays is that they completely get rid of sans'es nihilism. inverted fate and ts underswap do this to make him have more of a presence in the story. But people are forgetting that his nihilism is one of the main reasons he became such an interesting character. His fight in the corridor would have literally not happened, and even if it did still happen for some apparent reason. (I'm calling out most undetale fan made works where sans does something) it wouldn't be as important to the meta narrative of Undertale because his fight dialogue really pieces together undertale's real narrative if you haven't caught on to it already. This leads me to the main reason ts underswap sans frustrates me. he has dialogue after you die because sans is known to be good at reading people. in undertale, his nihilism comes from knowing the world is always just going to reset by an anomaly. crossbones has no excuse for knowing how many times you've died because what would lead him to that conclusion anyway if he didn't know you were the anomaly? and there's no build up to him knowing if you've died. he just knows out the gate. which leads me to believe that sans only knows how many times you die just to spite the player. where sans takes a good look at your expression before making his guess if you've died and making a crude response after. if crossbones knew you were the anomaly that's resetting, he'd be just like ut sans. I'll reiterate this for the 100th time. the only reason sans fights you in no mercy is because if he doesn't stop you the world will be destroyed. crossbones fights you to protect the other monsters or whatever which is why his fight in ruthless wasn't as impactful. because you have no context to why he knows these things. And his dialogue during his pacifist and ruthless encounters i found pretty dull because he takes the fights as a joke, where ut sans is completely serious during his fight because he knows he has to stop you or the world is going to be destroyed, so he gives it his all, hoping his determination can triumph over yours. where crossbones is just buying time and making unclever jokes, not taking the fight seriously, which led a bad taste in my mouth. i can only wait and see how his character will be expanded and his knowledge explained but for now, crossbones i my least favorite character in ts underswap. he may have the same characteristics as sans, but doesn't have what makes him such a good character, yet. (i have no idea how to a tldr so your just going to have to read trough my poorly made rant on why crossbones is unfaithful to ut sans.)
