Trying to be UNIQUE in an over-photographed location.
There are thousands of landscape photos of the Lofoten Islands. I tried to be unique in my images on today's photo vlog.

That is what soured me about shooting landscape, I live north of Boston. New England is small enough you can be in neighboring state in < 2hrs. With such a small market, there is a MASSIVELY oversaturation of shots on S/M of the saaaaaaaaame places. I changed to more portraits 3 years ago and I find working with people more rewarding (financially as well). I shoott landscape 3-4x a year for me. What I do miss are the journeys and the new places that I was going to. Debating on building a landscape based/still frame based system again.
What a beautiful beach at the end of the video
I’m absolutely hoping for a little more dramatic weather and more snow on the ground for March. Loved the classic reflection image.
Awesome to watch this channel.
Yep that image at 8:27 definitely worked Brendan, water movement was beautiful. Great collection of images and a good finish to your trip. Safe travels to Greenland....
Norway looks absolutely beautiful
I live 45 minutes from here. I moved here 3 years ago. I haven't even been to some of the places you've visited. Other must see's: The Holocaust Museum, Ford's Theater, Treasury Dept., and I've heard The Spy Museum is great.
You should really try something further north. Like the varanger peninsula in East Finnmark. 🙂
What gorgeous photos Brendan.... love them all
Another Gorgeous place to photograph and the Beaches in Norway are amazing. Your captures are beautiful and yes the weather does matter in more dramatic captures. Have a Great one!!!
Good video your picture in the thumbnail almost reminds me of of Albert Puljols.
Loved all the pics B 🥰. What an awesome place to visit☺️
great job - kudos for finding something different
Another great video😊keep up the good work👍
Awesome.
Love the Lofoten Islands!! I was there in Feb 2020 and loved every moment. I MUST go back soon? March 2023? I agree, poor conditions are almost a MUST sometimes. I have an image taken on our last day in Svolvaer, the wind was ferocious. I braced myself against a seawall and fired of 20 frames at a high shutter speed, blended them and that image is my favorite, because if looks so calm, but the conditions were the complete opposite.
I may not be there in body but I'm there in spirit, it's a beautiful location 👍👍😎
Sooner or later the magic will happen. 👍🥂
go when no one else goes, fog, rain, cloudy, 12 noon, night. use your imagination.
and then convert your color image to black and white, applying filters, etc as in nick google, and others
Sea weed, ugh. 10:05 big walrus. For some reason your vids haven't been on my feed for a while. Good to see you. How's the wife?
Filipino wine
The best way to get unique photographs at over photographed locations is to turn around and go somewhere else.
You may not be totally happy with your images however they are miles above mine and what I can take locally... I really need to get back to traveling further (even if it's just a few hours from my house) however I'm definitely (almost literally) the "starving artist" atm so no way can I afford even a tank of gas atm, let alone a flight or a workshop :(
