Omg so I got recommended your latest short that you uploaded. As I watches your 3rd shorts video I was thinking in the back of my mint that you kinda reminded me of some content creator but couldn’t remember exactly who. Then by the 5th short I was like OMG you look so much like this girl that covers drama in the yarn crafting community but didn’t think you two were the same people. Then I saw your name and I’m like OMG… Emily!!! Oh it is the same girl b, and how dumb am I to think you were two different people… of course you’re just one person.. Emily!!! we A you just grew out your hair and dyed it red, but you’ve changed your hair up with a dramatic change before, like the last yarn drama video I saw you had buzzed your blond hair off and it was darker. Then I was wondering if their was any new yarn drama so just type in Emily yarn drama in the search and there’s your other channel. Then I’m like oh, your last video you uploaded was about a month ago. And then I’m like wtf how did you cr didn’t think it was the same person cause she ended up buzzing her hair off a month ago. Then I’m like wtf how did you grow out a buzzed haircut so fast and that’s when I realize omg you two are two different people.

Hey Emily I'm gluten free (and have been for over a decade), you're already on the right track using rice noodles! Lots of asian food is already gluten free- I make lots of indian, vietnamese, japanese, chinese food cause it's so easy to GF/veganify! I lovee red lentil pasta that's made from 100% lentils (I use the San Remo brand, idk whats available in the US though, brands can differ a LOT in taste so I recommend trying a few brands if you don't like it at first!) - it's about 30g protein in a serve of just the pasta, so it's really filling! Also that B free brand you got for the pizza base is SO good- their sweet potato wraps are amazing (expensive here in Australia though) - I've noticed that gluten free products with sweet potato are usually better (maybe cause the starch?) and sourdough GF products are usually pretty great too. Gluten free flours are usually pretty good now (way better than they used to be) I even just get cheap Aldi ones and they're great I can't think of any more advice atm but you can do it! I know how hard it is limiting foods for your health (I have IBS) - you're doing great!!

It’s not like you have to rinse them. They just say that so the water won’t be starchy. But since ramen is traditionally thick, it totally works to leave it in if you don’t mind that texture

Example from this video, Emily also runs water over her matcha coated spoons into her matcha drink to get maximum amount of matcha

For the ramen situation, a couple of years ago a mason jar instant rice noodle ramen recipe went viral, you should try that if you haven’t! I think you prep it by putting the rice noodles in mason jars with tofu, veggies, and the seasoning packets and storing it in the refrigerator. You add boiling water later and stir it up and it cooks!

I was gluten free for 10 years before realizing that my symptoms actually stemmed from the bleaching and synthetic vitamins added to wheat, and not the gluten itself. After switching to organic wheat and unenriched products, my issues cleared up instantly. The standard wheat crop in the U.S. is filled with chemicals and makes nearly everyone sick. It’s a pain to have to constantly read labels and be cautious of which gluten to eat, but it’s worth looking into!

Hi Emily!! I've had eczema/psoriasis since I was born though luckily a lot of it has gone away. Back in 2020, changing my mattress triggered psoriasis on my scalp and for a couple of months, my scalp was itchy, bleeding, and blistering. I tried many at-home treatments such as using tea tree oil with shampoo, used T/Gel shampoo, and even prescribed topical lotion but none worked. But I found and tried out Head and Shoulders Clinical Strength shampoo (intensive itch relief) and if I remember correctly, it immediately cleared up my scalp within a week or two. However, I found out that this shampoo is not vegan at all :(( (sorry I am not a vegan but you have inspired me to try vegan foods for years and love your content). But, the medical ingredient they use is 1% Selenium Sulfide and I was thinking perhaps you could find a product with this specific ingredient! And searching online, SelSun Blue's shampoo might work and that the shampoo might be vegan?? I hope you will get better because I definitely had such a hard time :((

I also have psoriasis, it's actually the reason I went plant based in the first place as animal products massively trigger my outbreaks. While I can't say gluten is a known trigger for my symptoms I noticed an improvement when I switched to prepping homemade sourdough bread once a week over store bought bread. Maybe something that you could trial when you're in the re introduction phase.

I can relate to the struggle! My doctor prescribed a modified elimination diet for my IBS. First I eliminated gluten for 6 weeks then gluten and soy for 6 weeks. Eliminating soy was very challenging as a vegan! I found that a gluten sensitivity was the issue, and now I am gluten-free about 90% of the time and that works pretty well!

Emily, understand the struggle with coming up with meals while trying to balance everything. This is how I do it…which may/or may not work for you…..just a suggestion. Breakfast is simple smoothie, fruit yogurt granola. Lunch I do dinner leftovers. Dinner I do plan to cook…..each week I plan a soup, a pasta (gluten free for you), a bean/ grain and a vegan protein such as tofu main dish. I have plenty of TOVERS from dinners that lunch is easy. Hope this helps.

some other gf option you can try are sweet potato starch noodles (aka glass noodles-they’re used in japchae if you’ve ever had that). also beancurd sheet (basically a thin sheet of tofu, you can cut it into strips and use it like noodles or use it as a protein in a stir fry but i think it’s a fun way to change it up from regular blocks of tofu) and liang fen (aka mung bean jelly-a savory chinese dish that’s traditionally vegan). thanks for another great video and good luck with eating gf for the next few weeks!

(bunch of recs in this comment)** gluten free vegan of 2 1/2 years now. Sometimes it’s hard eating out BUT I have found my ways and when it comes to eating home I’m always full and I’ve never felt better. It is possible, I promise. Funny enough I’m gluten free due to skin issues haha and it saved my skin. Schars gluten free vegan breads are the best and at most grocery stores, their bagels and baguettes are so good. Instead of vegan cold cuts (most aren’t gluten free) I use smoked tofu and make all the same sandwiches. Anything simple mills brand is great for cookies and crackers. Jovial is the best gf vegan pasta and available at most grocery stores. There are many gf oats and I recommend almond flour out of all the other substitute options. Honestly I make everything the same it’s just the bread/gluten options get swapped out. And I’ve been vegan for almost 5 years now. One last thing, I highly recommend trying maple in your matcha latte instead of agave. It’s my fav. 💖🤌🏼 always loved your channel and was so happy as a gf/vegan to see this video.

Gluten free vegan here! Once you’re able to get over the first food creativity hump, it gets so much easier! My main cuisines I cook are Asian or Mexican inspired. For breakfast a lot of times I lean savory for more variety (potato and veggie hash for ex) but I’ll also do gf oats (one degree is the best brand imo). When I’m itching for bread like products, I use brands such as Simple Kneads, Pacha, and o’dough’s. These have a bit pricey but worth it to me so I can have avo toast and other yummy staples. I also make my own almond flour tortillas which are awesome as well as buying corn tortillas. I also get tons of sweet potato varieties and do big baked sweet potatoes and load them with whatever I’m feeling - beans, tofu, sautéed greens, peppers, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, etc etc. nothing is bad in it. Top with a sauce like a tahini or cheese sauce and it’s yum yum. I could go on forever talking gf flours, recipes, specialty items etc but I won’t overwhelm you. Stay strong and best of luck!

I've had scalp seborrheic dermatitis since I was young. It's on my father's side of the family. It was worse when I was a teen. It's gotten better over the years. Diet has not really helped for me, but I do believe a higher sugar intake doesn't help. It definitely flares up with sweat or warm weather. I control it with washing my hair every day and rotating at least 3 dandruff/psoriasis shampoos. These methods don't make it go away, but make it manageable. Hopefully, you'll find something that works for you.

Being a gluten free vegan is HARD but totally doable! Ive been doing it for almost 5 years now (about 80-90% consistency) and it's definitely doable! Jovial pasta is superior, those rice ramens are everything (get them from Costco always), curries are a staple, rice and potatoes are usually the starch bases that I choose, whole foods are key unfortunately because the gfv products are just so expensive and filled with gunk. Using gf waffles as a bread is something I do a lot (think breakfast sandwiches with gf waffles as the bread). Quinn brand filled pretzels are great snacks when you want them. Feel Good Foods makes a gfv dumpling that is amazing and I love to put in soups or just have on their own. Simple Mills makes the best gfv boxed baked goods/their pita chips and almond crackers are good in a pinch. None of the gf tortillas are comparable to flour and I have given up on them completely. Clo Clo (found at sprouts) makes pretty good frozen vegan pizza for when you just do not want to cook, and they use pretty clean ingredients. Lastly, if you're like me and find tamari/liquid aminos an insult to what soy sauce is then there are lots of gf soy sauce options at the asian markets! Good luck in your gf journey. Just like going vegan, it takes some time for it to become the norm but then once it does it really doesn't require much thought :) you got this!

I noticed about two years or so after I went plant based that my skin on some of my knuckles started getting rough and flaky. It wasn’t until the beginning of this year that it cleared up, which happened to be about a month after I cut all plant based cheeses and meats out. Then, about two months ago, I twisted my back in a way that my sciatica decided to cry about (again) and went raw vegan for a good two weeks. I always feel so much better when I eat fully raw vegan, but I’ve come to realize that if I just leave out the gluten, imitation meats and cheeses, and basically anything overly processed, I feel much better in whole. I sleep better, have more energy, I’m less stressed, and all that good jazz. What works for one, or some, may be drastically different for others. I hope you find what works for you soon✨ I thought it would be more difficult for me to give up the plant based meats and cheeses (even though I didn’t consume them that often), but it was much easier than I expected it to be. Breads and pasta are the hardest for me. They are my vise! But I’m good. I’m fine. It’s good. I’m good. I’m fine. I’m ooooohkaaaaaaay. It’s good. 🥺🙃 Thank you for the yummy recipes. Please keep them coming✨ Be well, stay kind and blessings and to all✨

Oats can be gluten mimicking. I’m Not sure of the mechanism but I had to give them up too. Food for thought. 😊

Sorry about your potential gluten triggers. Maybe try acv hair rinse to alleviate the dryness and itch and it’s probably help it clear up some. (Cantu has a good acv rinse.) I hope you heal! 🥹🫶🏿

Love your videos. I’m also gluten free and plant based. It’s tough but is doable. Check your bouillon. There is gluten in things you don’t realize. Just read ingredients. Northern bake house makes gluten free vegan breads. Good luck!! Keep up the good work! Beth B

Celiac vegan here! The best gf pasta is by bionaturae (it’s on thrive market). The texture is the best I’ve ever found - even my non gf, gluten lover partner likes it. Jovial is fine but doesn’t hold a candle to bionaturae imo. Oh also siete EVERYTHING!

Tamari is a good gluten free substitute and so is coconut liquid aminos but, this is sweeter tasting though. Bob's Red Mill has a dedicated gluten free factory that makes gluten free oats and I know Quaker sells two types of gluten free quick oats in a little bags in a box especially the plain variety. I know this since I work part time at a grocery store and plus my mom has to eat gluten free as well. I forgot to mention that Nature's Path has some gluten free oats available for you to buy as well. Siete makes 4 different types of gluten free tortillas that are all grain free, but have yeast added to them that you may like the taste of better.😊

Hey hey bay bay! I wanted to tell you that Aldi has amazing GF V bread! Also if you try sourdough, make sure it’s long fermented, most store bought is not. I have several friends that have gluten issues of all levels and they can eat my sourdough goodies. You can make everything sourdough, easy to prep ahead and tastes amazing!

My professor and her daughter are celiac and have to be gluten free. They have to have certified gluten free food, and it is so hard to find! And it's so expensive. I had no idea regular soda had gluten in it, but it's from the caramel coloring!

I have a recipe but it it’s not gluten free unfortunately. 😢 my hyperfixation/depressy meal right now is 1/4 package high protein tofu, avocado, nutritional yeast: mash all that up and top onto toasted bread OPEN FACED, top with bagel seasoning. Avocado/tofu toast basically, it’s yummy and high protein!

Blue berries! I used to buy those big bags with frozen fruit (1 pound) too. The price over here is 5-6 euros. But recently I've switched over to buying certain fruits organic. This because I'm worried about the toxins they spray on these fruits. More expensive, but important if you want to keep your daily dose of toxins as low as possible.
