It all begun in lap 61. Senna was 40 seconds ahead of Patrese . First he lost the 3rd gear, than the 5th. 6 laps to go, he was stuck in 6th gear an Patrese was already 4 seconds behind him. His gearbox went to shit and he had to keep his hand holding the gearshift on 6th gear, otherwise, the car went back to neutral. He had to drive one handed for 6 laps, 2 of these laps where with light rain, which help him stay in front. What help him with the acceleration was in every corner, he used that technique which he stomp on the clutch with one foot, break with the tip of the other foot and push the gas pedal with the heel with the same foot, pushing the engine RPM while he was breaking.

@@tuckervfx well in 1994 Williams decided using the 1992 car (the fw14b) with all of the stuff that made the 92 car great removed was their best decision, rather than developing a new car to competitively fit the regs that year. the car also didnt really fit him, either. I know the debate is still alive and well but Newey himself has said he feels guilt over Senna's death still to this day, I.E. Newey was aware that the front end of the car had faulty aero, front wing stalls, modified steer rack fails, motorsport loses one of its greats.. the whole obsolete car thing is especially noticeable when you look at the design of all the other front running cars, coupled with williams only started being competitive after Senna's death and a host of modification were made to their car that year. TLDR: has frank williams and paddy lowe not been morons, williams would've had a competitive car & senna wouldnt have died in a horrific crash.

Senna had failed winning in Brazil a couple of times. This was his first win at his (also mine) homeland. When he finishes the race and starts screaming both because of happiness and pretty bad pain, it gives us Brazilians goosebumps. He was our hero. He managed somehow to be our number 1 idol even though F1 races weren't nearly as popular as football matches. Holding the car at the 6th shift, maintaining his position, driving one handed, not making mistakes and finishing at 1st, all of that at full speed and in Brazil too. Remarkable, unbelievable, immeasurable.

I feel you could have gone faster if you used the h-pattern gearbox setup, with a foot clutch - like what they had at the time. The thing is these cars didn't have power steering, so to be stuck in sixth gear going at very slow speed made the car nearly undrivable. It was an incredible effort to steer the car at all stuck in sixth gear going through corners. The only time he had a slight reprieve was on the two straightaways, especially after the final third gear left hand turn immediately preceding the main straight, where he could just put his foot down and get the speed up closer to match sixth gear, while only having to pull left slightly on the steering wheel.

So crazy how far the game has come in just a few years…I remember when gaming systems basically didn’t exist. I had the Atari, I was one of the first to buy the reg. Nintendo then super nes, was the first to buy Sega and the update to it Sega CD, then Nintendo 64, and when PlayStation and XBOX it changed gaming forever. Just can’t believe it was actually fun playing all those old consoles. Kids nowadays would hate the graphics and playing speed of those old games. I remember when there was no such thing as cell phones so watching videos like this didn’t exist. Just so amazing how far technology has come in my lifetime. Can’t wait to see where it goes before I March on up to heaven.

Great effort and a nice idea for a challenge, it would be quality if Codemasters were to add a 'Challenge Section' into the game which set us challenges like this which they could update and change with weekly and monthly challenges, on anniversary days like this to honour past drivers etc. etc. !! I think they used to have a sort-of Challenge Section a while ago in early F1 games but I can't remember, either way, they need to bring it back and re-vamp it or just make one for us and keep it fresh with regular updates etc. As this will help keep people active on the game !! I know you probably won't answer (even though you actually ask people to comment here with questions etc.) I've asked many questions before in previous videos and I've never had a reply, but, I'll ask anyway..... What do you think ??

As a photographer i can confirm this. Adobe lightroom 2019 sucks more Pc performance than Dark Souls 3 with graphics on the highest settings. And dont even think about the sync, just talking about this makes the PC 10% slower.

There is not much sense in trying to recreate Senna's remarkable improvisation without using a clutch. Senna used clutch to keep the engine running at optimal rpm, prevent it from stalling and to 'dose' torque to the wheels (by revving the engine up and keeping it half-clutched). I'm not sure that in reality F1 engine could even sustain torque at such low rpms while in 6th gear.

I actually had similar issue in F1 2019 during china GP, I got to go with 40% gearbox - with full race I lost 3rd around halfway through, lost 5 about 3 laps later, and 20 laps to go my gearbox broke more, and it got a 4 second response time to any gear changes so i dro whole race around 46 and 7 ( if you timed change well you could downshift or upshift, with proper time correction, just stat changing 4 seconds early:P, but it was 1st time that kind of damage . and I did kill the poor gearbox it was 86% after the race ( but I am heavy on gearboxes in F1 games, I use engine breaking a lot so lot of shifts X_X)

You should have used the clutch to climb the engine spin... Senna did this mainly at the Laranjinha corner, which is behind the pits... so patrese's team wouldn't report a Senna problem.
