One of the best of all time? Prost? No doubt. He’s my personal #3, but he is not underrated, lol. He’s a legend and highly respected and considered a top 5 in any serious F1 fan’s list. And even if he is underrated, he’s not the MOST UNDERRATED, lol. I would dare say Nico Rosberg is more underrated. Just my 2 cents.

Actually no one should have heard it beyond the small TV crew and Prost since Senna said it before the segment that was to be recorded and broadcasted on french TV. When the TF1 crew heard it, they were a bit puzzled at first and wondered what to do with it, so they asked Senna if they could broadcast it on TV as well and he said yes. I think it was important for him at that point to show that there were no bad feelings left between himself and Prost.

what makes you think they "almost became friends"? If you're the type of fanatic that thinks Prost is lying about his deceased colleague 25 years later, you probably don't believe his remark on the whole "Senna good guy vs Mafia Belestre noseman Prost" duck tale. They were on good terms for years before Imola. Senna used to call Prost constantly (monthly at least) asking Prost to return to F1. They also visited each other, and exchanged words on race days. Also, Prost said, Senna confided something very personal to him in the last months before Imola. Of course, Prost being the "Belestre Mafia Suzuka dood it was a scam dood" guy that he is, he vowed he will never give the journos that bit of info.

Save for my grandfather and Ayrton Senna, I have no idols. I have raced and seen what I call the tunnel and Senna called transcending reality. To step outside yourself, with your life on the line, is the most euphoric feeling that I have felt. Your body and instinct simply take over and your active mind is an uninterested observer. I believe Senna often reached this level, and he always raced on instinct and feel. He raced with his heart and that’s why I love him. It would be easy for me to hate Prost, but I love him too. He pushed my idol to levels that he would not have achieved without Prost. So I salute you Alain, I admire and respect you. Without you I would never have had the driver I always tried to be, thank you professor.

No, you don’t win 4 world championship if you aren’t a champ. Prost except the first year in f1 he always fighted for the title. He often won against Senna and the battle was always hard. McLaren, Renault and Williams don’t take a driver if he isn’t really strong. Berger? Only a good diver, non a champ. On 1996 with the Benetton Renault that won on 1995 he done really few good things. The same on 1989 with Ferrari. Remember how Prost was fast on 1990 with Ferrari! Prost was the only one that made difficult Senna’s life.

Remembering Tamburello, the bad luck factor killed Senna, because Tamburello is a curve of big speed and from an unavoidable way, the drivers go in there in high speed. Piquet, Berger and Alboreto have suffered ugly accidents on Tamburello. All of them have escaped well. Senna was the unique that have lost his life. If the steering bar went 15 centimeters to the left, Senna probably still to be here, between us. The irony is that Senna had luck in many moments in his private life and in his career, but in the moment that he most needed of luck, he hadn't. Fucking Tamburello! That fucking curve have took from us the magic duels between Schumacher and Senna, that will would happend, for sure. Can you imagine it? Fucking Tamburello!

I just can't hold my tears everytime I see Senna on action. He was incredible, and the reason why I'm so ferociously a F1 fan. Hamilton has his own bright, Vettel does also has in other way, Shumacher is genius, but Senna is the man. God, the almighty could has him in a very good place.

I think the late 80s and early 90s F1 car profile defines the quintessential look of an F1 machine to me, despite being a recent follower of the sport. Elegant overhead intake, very flat and sleek look with a body that hugs the track, and a two-dimensional front wing. The simpler lines and the larger rear wing structure completes the look.

Worth mentioning that the pole position grid spot had always been on that inside line at Suzuka. But whatever suits your narrative...

I know this has nothing to do with Senna vs Prost ... but I really have to congratulate to whoever shared this footage and improved its quality. There are some clips of the races and press conferences where the images are so clear, with such a quality that in a moment I felt I was in that press conference, watching Senna in person. Just for a second it was a magical moment. Sorry for the sentimentality.
