Gundruk is not fermented vegetable. It is fermented green leaves, we call saag over here. Gundruk sadeko is just one dish. There are many ways of having gundruk

Pratima ji, it could be difference from place to place but I used to add other vegetables in gundruk like pumpkin, bottleguard etc. And correct way is to bury it in cow/buffalo dung and dry it after few days 😀.

Saag ko vegetable bolte hai english mai...🤣🤣🤣
I wish I could cook our Nepalese dishes and serve them. Btw Sadeko is pronounced as Saadheko, choila is pronounced as Chhoila. Gundruk is fermented green leaves ( saag) and gundruk's soup is delicious. Yes we do make alcohol at home from rice, millet, wheat and all. Loved how you guys loved our food ❣️

But, the original taste of each of those food will make you guys in love with the Nepali Cuisine ❤️ & As Antil bhai said, Yes it's true that people of different communities make the local beverages which is known as "Raksi"-in nepali, "Aila"-in newari language, even they make "Chyang"- which is also known as Rice beer & trust me it's the best in Nepal. Hope to see you guys soon in Nepal 🇳🇵

Much awaited video , Thanks for including Nepali dishes in video , this are just starters not main course so try to add more items in Next video . Love from Nepal 🇳🇵 ❤️
To be precise 'Gundruk' is the fermented radish leaves. We mostly make it out of green leafy vegetables and the alcohol thing it is made out of either Rice or Millet that is widely prepared in the village and hilly parts. It is not sold fully for commercial purpose. It is to honour the guests during marriage ceremony and festivals. It is taken as token of love and the respect gesture towards the guest. And the word Chhoila it isn't pronounced (च ) it's छ (छोइला) . Thankyou so much Team Urban for this incredible video. Lots of love from 🇳🇵 Keep growing.
make a video on " desi daru " and its after effects,15 min later and an hour later. Or make a video on absinthe drink and after effects. It will be great to see what's your opinion on it. Drink video missing..... since a long time. Kindly make one.

Wow glad you guys liked all the nepali dishes. We have so many more dishes that is a must try. Love from nepal❤
It was lovely that u enjoyed our dishes 🙂. All the food items presented in this video are my favourite one. But I don't know why those dishes weren't looking authentic 😕, also felt u guys hesitate to try some of the dishes. Hopefully u guys got the real taste. Love u guys for making this kinda content.🇳🇵
We make two different kinds of alcoholic beverages here. The first one is fermented wine and the second one is distilled alcohol. Different grains i.e rice, wheat, barley, buckwheat and some fruits like plump, apple, grapes are used to make wine and alcohol. A lot of eastern nepalese make buckwheat alcohol. Western and southern nepalese make rice alcohol and northern people make alcohol from apples, buckwheat and barley...... In conclusion, fermentation is the way of living life for nepalese cuz we have a lot of fermented foods and beverages u can ever imagine of😘

Alcoholic beverages are made in some of N.E India as well. I’m from the Ahom community from Assam, our family has the tradition of making fermented rice beer. And sometimes (not tradition, personal interest) banana wine.
We mostly have gundruk sadeko with rice and dal and there are many other ways of eating gundruk ❤

True about homemade alchol . It's called local raksee ( Local alcohol )
Gundruk is fermented leaves and we don't put vinegar when it is making. Otherwise it creates its own "Khatas" when it is fermenting.
We need another part trying newari food❤️
Yessss! People make alcoholic beverages locally at their homes. They are known as local raksi, tongbaa, teen paaney, etc.
