The team that made the Alpha version are absolutely different then the team that made the Beta version, because there is no way they would put that much time and effort into improving this game and actually taking critisism.

Why couldn’t they just keep the same art style as before? One of the massive parts of PVZ was the nostalgia of the art style. It’s timeless. Once you change that you’re removing a majority of your fan base. New mechanics are usually quite nice, but these revamps aren’t as much.

@Batatadoce but the general designs didn't change too much mario was 2d at first, but after 3d, The designs are pretty consistent. sonic kept the general design, and only changed small detail. among us had a design change? Minecraft didn't really change artstyles, at most they added more details. Pvz the first game had a unique artstyle, 2 changed it to a bit more cartoony look, but 3 completely changed the artstyle, crazy dave looks like it's straight from a children cartoon

The devs didn’t create PvZ 3 for the OG fan base. But for the little kids who haven't even existed for 12 years.

in my personal opinion, the first PvZ was the best. the nostalgia is a main factor, but mainly the art style, and just the slow, less energetic and basic idle animations were great. i feel like as the games continue to come out, they get worse. i also feel as if they are trying too hard with the animations and everything else. the basic art style and the less exaggerated idle animations are in my eyes, the best. the way they do the new games is just more childish and energetic which doesn’t fit the theme of a zombie apocalypse. i know this is unnecessarily long, but just wanted to vent and share my thoughts about the new game and how it’s coming

I'm fine with the artstyle, it looks good enough for me, but the second he got to the gameplay and i see A LIFE SYSTEM in a PVZ game is where i draw the line.

@@masrurashumona1444 It's only available as an early build in Australia, the Philippines or the Netherlands. If you want you can use a VPN and reset your Playstores/Applestores data, and bam it'll be available. Or another option is you download an apk file from a trusted source.

@@giyrte7276 The demo ended probably before June personally I downloaded it before the demo ended BUT when I open it the game shows an error message. So most likely you cant download it anywhere because the demo is over.

I would say all we could do is hope but even that isn’t plausible with EA. They plainly do not care about their customers, as long as they’re getting money. For example I bought PvZ garden warfare a week or so ago after playing it on my xbox and having the subscription run out. I was under the impression that I would be able to keep my progress with my EA account Apparently cross progression isn’t allowed because some stupid reason I didn’t even read. There’s an entire subreddit dedicated to begging EA for cross progression but they just turn away and keep adding more in app purchases. So that was fun

Did you see the alpha? This is not new in development. Yet it gets forgotten and remember every 3 years

I think they should outright cancel PvZ 3 at this point. The gameplay, the art style and the story are all downgrades to PvZ 1 and 2. They thankfully made it slightly better than the earlier demos but it is still too scam mobile-gamey. Thanks EA, very cool.

@@wayden28 EA is the sole reason why PvZ 2 only released on mobile and has so much in-game purchases. Even the original PvZ 1 paid mobile ports got replaced with ad included versions. I know EA is just the publisher but they force all their devs to make games that make a lot of money, which is mainly through ads and in-game purchases. Also a lot of PopCap's game devs got replaced with the EA purchase too. The old devs formed a studio called Electric Manta Productions.

this game is wildly different to what it used to be, a year ago there was no sunflowers and no lawns, you would progress up a tower and have 1 "sunflower" thats not even planted and just auto generates sun edit: the art style also used to be entirely 3d and the game was in portrait mode instead of landscape

Hello Matt I know you have been playing pvz for a while but there are more games such as pvz heros and pvz garden warfare 1 and 2 and pvz battle for neighborville so I was just wanting to say I would enjoy it. If you tried those games out.

All we need now is for matt to play Plants vs. Zombies: Garden warfare & Balance will be restored

I like the new artstyle, but the animation is a little too childish/energetic for the plants, and not "zombie" enough for the zombies. As stated: the eating animation could be more dramatic, make it look like they are really trying to chew down instead of whacking. The plants could use less facial animation and bouncing, more like in PvZ 2: keep it casual! Especially at 2x speed, where it looks like they are dancing.

Downgrades imo: - Plot is fragmented across levels and aren't interesting, with only few lines of dialogue. - More characters = less characterization and development per character. (Dave in Pvz 3 is boring) - Unnecessarily long and useless tutorials, only exist for children and players who haven't played 1 or 2, and to add bloated game time. - Difficulty (I know its early game) as 1 and 2 were balanced, but PvZ3 is looking too easy with the grapes of wrath and the items. Probably designed for children so they can continue to have to dopamine boost of levels. I think this is bad design for most players. - Lack of detail. As Matt stated, wtf are the zombies eating? The zombies' death animation is all the same, characters are still images and audio doesn't make sense to context. - Game mechanics are largely the same to PvZ1, nothing really different (unlike the other ages in PvZ2), nothing really innovative. - Music? Kind of meh. There are better remixes of 1 and 2 that can do better. I recommend scrapping PvZ3 because it probably won't be much better off even if there are changes in coming updates. The IP is ruined in the long run as the game becomes a mere product for young children and not a game for the dedicated fans that have played Pvz 1 and 2.

I agree with everything. Also the settings are SUPER boring. Like there’s literally less worlds than PVZ1? That was a problem in PVZ1 and you think they would try to one up the amount of settings over PVZ2.

so as far as i have seen, it looks like their is a lot more of the story in this one. They have some pvz comics, and it looks like they are adding things from those to this game

I remember being 3 years old sitting at my moms old laptop playing pvz (original one). Great times

Those split lanes and other configs with maps actually looks neat. Can't say about it of a downgrade, well except visuals [think first itteration looked better but seems everyone hated that one] but as for features and ohter stuff, PVZ2 is just now filled with so much of course its gonna be less than that for now. Sun change is interesting, to be honest the incriments of 25/50 kinda do end up boiling to just points [since they took out suns that are 15 so you don't get odd numbers as in PVZ1] so its more of a visual than a mechanical change.

About the sun stuff, in pvz2 if you shovel plants that sun cost end with 25 or 75 with the shovel upgrade or use a level 2-8 tile turnip it is possible to get to sun that isn't a multiple of 25

I loved PVZ as a child from the beginning to the Xbox garden warfare but seriously out of all I still love the colors and backgrounds of the Original PVZ it's differes from different locations and plants and specific abilities. PVZ 2 adds a whole lot to the roster with some classics and PVZ Heroes is a unique one with actual heroes fighting side by their plant companions in a unique method those two are runners ups but still classic I loved the most. BTW Matt what's ur favorite PVZ series?

We need more worlds. More maps. I understand this is not about time travel so we can’t have super unique worlds, but they should try to add more settings than lawns, waterfalls, volcanoes. You would think they’d try to one up the previous games.

I Think PVZ3 is telling us the song that goes like “and it was all yellow, your skin, your skin and bones, turn to something beautiful” and flowers are beautiful so it must be talking about that song

I like when you play pvz games but pvz3 isn't that fun😕

Just finished playing the beta I like the game and it's new mechanics I like that they added a story and the art style is refreshing at least for me. And it's a lot better that the first beta of PVZ3 and introduced new characters. But it might still change and yeah cherry bomb and Jalapeño are now Powerups and you have to buy it with coins. And rewards are great giving power ups and coins. And they introduced a lot of new plants and zombies like the Bowling zombie. And the beta ends at level 50. I like it even though they changed the art style and given new mechanics it still feels a PVZ game. And I like it. They would probably need to fix some of the animation but overall there's a lot of time for improvements. And The game focuses on challenges now. And I like the game it's new but still feels kind of the same. Which I like.

And when you play the game they give you a link to their survey so that you can say if you like the game or what things that they should change and if you like the new characters. I’m always be a fan of PVZ games but PVZ OG is always be the best for me.

It looks like they might have gotten the Ninja Kiwi team who did the BTD 6 graphics and Bloons Supermonkey 2 graphics to do the graphics for this team. It is super similar. That or they just really liked it and tried to replicate it themselves.

one thing i hate about this -excluding the other things i hate, which is a lot- is that you can't plant after you clear a stage.

I can definitely see what they are trying to do but it's not quite ready
