Trying out my Nerdy Gurdy Linotte | A madre de Jesu-Cristo
Музыка
This is me trying a small medieval tune after finishing my Nerdy Gurdy Linotte a few days ago. Feel free to comment and leave feedback. ;)
I spent the time setting up the instrument so that it doesn't sound like dying animals and familiarizing myself with it.
I like to believe that I got the basic hang of it pretty quickly, as I have some experience playing piano, accordion as well as other stringed instrument from bass to ukulele, however just as a hobby in my free time.
I played the tune with the low drone on A2, low trumpet on A3 and low chanter on G3. The high drone is C3, high trumpet C4 and high chanter G4, all of those are muted. That way I have nice and easy minor and major scales available.
For the recording I used a Audio-Techinca AT 2020 microphone in combination with a Schaller Oyster piezo pickup, video was shot on a Fuji X-M1.
I think the Nerdy Gurdy is a great way to be introduced to the world of Hurdy Gurdys, and having an instrument you built yourself with just basic woodworking knowledge is a great feeling. Also, I won't be as scared to tinker around with it or bring it to a lake or campfire to play, as with a much more precious and expensive instrument.
Thanks for watching!
