Cows are so polite. I've seen many videos of them enjoying concerts and they're always in line, quiet, and at a good distance from the orchestra 🐄🐄🐄. They behave better than most humans.

Hate to burst everyone's bubble but cows will do that with pretty much anything theyre not familiar with. Try landing a parachute in a cow paddock - Ive done it twice and not only will they come running shoulder to shoulder like that they will do it at full speed, which is intimidating to say the least. Once youve safely jumped the fence and can talk to them without worrying about being trampled they'll just stand there and listen.

While hiking in British Columbia I came to a sharp corner in the trail and in a moment I was face to face with a black bear, no more than 10 feet away. Don't know what led me to this decision, but instead of fleeing, I pulled my harmonica out of my pocket, sat down on a log and while staring at my boots and not the bear, played a soft blues tune. The bear stood there listening for a good 30 seconds then turned and climbed up the hill. I couldn't believe what had just happened. A few miles down the road, while playing again, a bird dive bombed my head. Guess it's a matter of taste. Fifty years later this day still amazes me.

Cows sure do love music. When I was a kid in the seventies my uncle had a dairy farm with 80 head. When he went in at 4:30 in the morning the cows would start mooing loudly, until he turned the radio on then they would shut right up. In the winter months when they were inside all the time he would leave the radio on during the day. And if you shut it off anytime during the day they would get mad start mooing until you turned it back on. My cousin had a great singing voice and when the cows were out in the pasture she would sing and they would come running just like in the video. Cows are awesome, much smarter and more soulful than you might expect.

My Russian Blue kitty (now an angel in Heaven), Severus, LOVED my voice. He absolutely loved when I would sing to him. When he was at the end of his life & we were taking to the vet he would be incredibly stressed out in the car. He HATED driving anywhere- he would usually scream and cry the entire time in the car. So I sang whatever song I knew I could from beginning to end. So I sang him Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" and he laid on my lap and gazed up at me with eyes full of love and admiration. Letting him go was the hardest thing I had to do in a long time. But I was happy I could keep him calm when he was already suffering. I miss you Sevy.❤

Cows are surprisingly receptive to performances. Many years ago, our friends from England invited us to go on holiday with them. They rented a farmhouse in Wales. After a few days, I found myself with the sniffles one morning. I opted to stay behind and rest while my family and our friends went on an excursion. With nothing to do and finding myself all alone, I started playing a guitar I found in the farmhouse. When I looked up from my seat in the back garden, I found myself facing a wall of cows from the neighboring farm, just calmly looking on. I strolled over to sing while playing the guitar. I couldn’t carry a tune, mind you, but I seem to have had an appreciative audience all the same.

this brought tears to my eyes seeing that pleasing sound frequencies evoke an emotional response from other creatures as well! And they hear frequencies that we cannot. they spend all their lives listening for the sake of detecting enemies and survival and most animals will never hear sounds like these. Humans used to be like that before we invented rudimentary instruments. what if you could take a band back in time and play for some peoples like say the apache indians. I wonder what those sounds would do to them. Like third eye blind said "those 4 right chords can make me cry". Music (and mathematics) truly are the universal language.

I've always wondered about the "why" of why animals are so attracted to music. I can only speculate, but my guess is that it's because it's a sound they aren't used to hearing in nature, and they have nothing to compare it to. Couple that with their heightened senses, and I can imagine that it quite literally "hits different" for them.

Just put of curiosity, how do you feel about the class of beautiful, sentient creatures which hunts and eats other beautiful, sentient creatures? They like music too. In fact, there were a few predators in this video. Two tigers and an absolutely adorable, beautiful, sentient beluga whale, and some dolphins, all of which happen to be predators. Like we humans are, evolutionarily. I am not criticizing your choice to be vegan.

My husband and I had a wonderful encounter with some birds in the mountains of Western North Carolina. We'd been putting bird seed out on the upper deck rail for several weeks. It was mid-Fall and warmer than usual after the first frost. One beautiful afternoon we were out on the deck just happy to be together and enjoy ourselves. Had some happy bluegrass music playing. Started tapping our feet and clapping our hands. And the birds! They all just started chirping along to the beat, too!
Fantastic Dixieland Band. - Most living things respond to music in one way or another. The Uke and the tiger were fascinating... Elephants, amazingly smart as always - and the Mariachi band was brilliant!
Music is truly the universal language. This is the most magical thing I've seen.
The mariachi balooga is awesome. I'm pretty sure he actually had rhythm.
The joy that the first kid experiences is such a nice thing to see.
I used to get the same reaction from a Tiger named Mary Lou at the zoo I used to work at WITHOUT music. I'd call her from behind the day pen where the spectators couldn't see and she'd come over for a visit with me. I'd give her my fruit popsicle and then scratch her sides as she walked back and forth leaning into the fence. Very affectionate big kitty. She was lonely 😥

"Are we smart enough to know how smart animals are" A book by Frans de Waal, biologist
The guy on the accordion, I was waiting for the Cows to break out in chorus "" And when we're gone from here, our Friends will be drinking all the beer, Shucks."" 🎹🎻🎺🎷🎼
Loved how the crow responded to the intentional silences the man was leaving on the music
Amazing!. The power of music. A language all creatures understand.
Gosh so enjoy this. many many Thanks for sharing this,
I need more cowbell!
The language of music is more universal than we thought. It has hidden divine dimension.
I love the oboe and the blue jay? Singing with the music. The cows are amazing animals so that doesn't surprise me.😊
He finally found someone who wants to hear his accordion.
Cattle: "If we could get a concession stand that would be great. Thanks."
they can dance, sing, rejoice and enjoy musical interaction...
The elephant dancing to the flute reminded me of my moves on the dance floor back in the 80’s….though admittedly..he’s a little smoother!
Part of what the afterlife is gonna be like, y'all. 😂❤
A beautiful way to start my day. Thank you!
After years and decades of learning, practicing and working to improve my musical skills, my best audience is a herd of cows and a bird who sings along with me.
The first clip, with the little girl and the cows, literally brought tears to my eyes.
No living thing can resist a good mariachi band. Love this! ❤
who knew? cows like accordian? (wow) awesome!!!

Accordion to this video, that could be their favorite instrument 😋
WOW! The fact that those last two musicians could play such a complicated beat, at the same time no less, is crazy
It's so cute how the cows are chiming in with their bells!
This is one of the cutest and amazing things that I’ve seen! The cows literally come running to hear music! This is such a sweet way to end my day♥️ Good Night

Seeing animals react to music is one of the reasons I became a vegan. These are beautiful, sentient creatures.

I restrict myself to only chicken, that too rarely. We get very good vegetarian food in India.

I’m just pointing your how unbelievably complex life can appear to be, when we chauvinistic humans are doing the analysis.

@stvbrsn I wish they didn't have to, but their diets are dependent on consuming flesh, and they are much more beholden to their instincts than we are. We're able to reason and have empathy, we understand pain. And we are not reliant on one food type to survive. It's a choice for us.

@@Malumbrus agreed. Cheers!
Nobody is talking about the tiger’s reaction . That big kitty seemed to be loving it. Came close to the lady and sat beside her. Awww🥹🥹🥹
I am amazed on how cows do really enjoyed music. They are smarter than we ever thought. Amazing!❤️
