China is a huge country (and not all Chinese food is spicy). This kind of hot pot is from the Sichuan province which has 83 million people (compare to France's 68 million) and in Sichuan they do love spicy food, although even some of their dishes are not that spicy and can be made more mild. (They also have giant pandas!) Those dried peppers can look scary, but they're for color and flavor and you don't need to eat them. I ate some Korean food in Paris, which was tasty, and most people seem to love Bibimbap, but it was not spicy at all, which was probably adjusted for local tastes. I also had very good Japanese food and I heard some of the Chinese food is very good, too, which I'm glad you highlight in your video. Paris is such a diverse, vibrant city! I always look forward to visiting Paris. I usually want to eat delicious French food in France, because it will be better in France than anywhere else. I also love to try the cuisine from different areas of France and enjoy the way each region makes the most of the seasonal ingredients that naturally grow best and are abundant. You are very fortunate to live in Paris where you can have the best of everything. Thank you Theo, I enjoyed your video and look forward to seeing more of your experiences in Paris!

Yes I love it! Spice tolerance can be built up but it takes time. Cultures that can take spicy food simply have had the time to build it up since they were kids.
