Many moons ago, I took AP and LFG out to our farm in Texas. We caught a stringer of small(ish) crappies and the boys cooked them in Franks for the first time (I believe). I've been doing it that way ever since. Great vid guys, keep it up

A lot of fun to watch. You guys made a simple back yard fishing trip into a mini adventure. A well rounded catch, clean, cook. The antics of the four legged friend didn't hurt either.

Great vid, love Jack. Re oils: all oils can get to the same temp, but canola oil starts to smoke at a higher temp than olive oil. Grapeseed oil is another good high temp oil. High temp oils are important when you are seasoning cast iron skillets so you don't fill your house with smoke.

Rapala 6 or 8 inch fillet knife they are easy to sharpen and hold an edge really well. There are tons of expensive knives but I've been using Rapala knives for 50 years.

Seeing AP using the Frank's red-hot recipe reminds me of the time he talked a restaurant owner into using the kitchen to film a catch & cook😂😂

I gotta say. I love the franks red hot, but Iv eaten fish my whole life and have always used straight cornmeal or maybe Louisiana brand seasoning. Didn’t know other wise until a few years ago watching you.

Favorite filled knife? One I made myself from a busted bandsaw blade I picked up from a local sawmill.

I use my electric rapala knife for bigger fish and then use my MN Fillet Knife for crappies and sunnies. Fun Video to watch!

Fish straight to the batter is crazy talk. Franks or milk for me. Also, Grandpa’s old Leech Lake Filet knife is my go to.

When I use air fryer I soak fillets in franks then just use the zaterans fish batter any batter will work, nice job get better Sydney!

Try frying your fish...and everything else...in lard. Instead of using water to test the oil temp try a pinch of flour, corn meal, bread crumbs or whatever you're going to use to coat the fish. Even if you're not going to coat the filets it's safer not to use water with hot oil. Great little crappie video. Can't wait till I get out of this freakin desert so I can go crappie fishing again.

Try 4 pound mono when the water is cold they get line shy it also makes the bait move better….try some gulp minnow on 1/16oz jigs….or check out chicken jigs tipped with a waxy
