What other resources have you used? Some tips: 1) Practice rim/snare only. If you are learning ghost notes, what you are learning is a new way to use a drum stick/your arm. Don't complicate it by practicing the entire kit while learning a new stroke. Learn the stroke enough to where you can hear and feel that you played a ghost note when you wanted to, accent when you want to. It doesn't take long, do two 5-minute drills every few days and by the end of a month you can probably start incorporating it into some simple songs. 2) You may be doing them already. Maybe it is the audio, but his ghost notes sound very loud. He sounds like he is playing taps, which are the lowest of the 4 common strokes. Ghost notes have the lowest dynamic value in percussion, below taps. They should be felt as much as heard. 3) Find a musician that uses your grip and ghost notes. That is who you should be youtubing. If you want to learn a new grip, try a traditional, jazz-style grip. Rolls are hard AF to learn, but ghost notes are a breeze. And 4) Relax! Unless you are competing for a seat in a program, you have no need to master this stroke today, right? There are so many awesome things you can do with a drum kit. Almost all of them come from combining basic things in interesting ways. Don't think of awesome songs as a giant monolith to climb, unless that is what motivates you best. Learning the basics that makes a song like Aenima awesome will allow you to make your own awesome. Spend some time on it, you don't have to make it your job.

What technique do you use? Moeller or Finger Control or the Push Pull? At slow tempos you can get away with just wrist but at faster tempos you have to switch to a technique. Just wondering what technique will be best for that super saiyan ghost notes.

excellent videos wild man! Glad to follow your channel! ..... the only thing is I'm confused with the way you are counting. You count the 8th notes as beats so when you say 4 bars you change after 2 bars. Had this problem with earlier videos too..... but nice accurate powerful drumming!!

Hey master Estepario!! How have you been ? I wish I could have more free hours a week to practice and perfect my techniques.................. but Im doing my best......Im almost done with the ghost notes, thanks to this exercise I now can make them sound much better, I really thank you buddy. Hey, I d love to see you taking Death metal covers in this space........Rapture from Morbid Angel, Depth of Depravity from Suffocation and such, I mean, from time to time. Im kinda frustrated now cause I havent been able to master my left hand to make faster blast beats, but I dont want them to sound weak, I meant, fast but without power, I want them to sound really powerfull, and when i get to a certain speed my arm hurts.........of course it doesnt happenwhen I change the posture but I lose power, did you get me? Im also having trouble to adapt jazz lines into metal........I know many great drummers were able because they studied lots of Jazz, could you teach some jazz lines in here ? Have a nice one buddy !
