At this point, he's an ass who has the muscle memory with little practice anymore, he probably ensures he has one part (the complex ones) and then stops giving a shit. Actually, this is interestingly a common thing among artists who don't much care for the art, screw simple shit up, master the harder crap.

Nah actually Lars could at all not play in Metallica. He is partial owner and he is doing pretty much everything but drumming in between concerts. "[The criticism] used to [bother me], back in the day - and I spent a lot of time overcompensating for that on the early records. But then you wake up one day and you're like, 'whatever.' It hasn't bothered me for about 15 years. I'm no Joey Jordison. I'm no Mike Portnoy, and I have nothing but love and respect and admiration for all those guys. When I hear some of the young dudes, they blow my mind with what they can do with their feet and stuff - but it's not something that makes me go, 'I need to feel better about myself so I'm gonna learn how to do what they do with my feet.' I'm not a particularly accomplished drummer but I am very, very, very good at understanding the role of the drums next to James Hetfield's rhythm guitar. I guarantee you I'm the best guy in the world for that, and that's enough for me!" - Lars Ulrich Also until 2008 he was going on cocaine. Now he's probably "only" drunk. About "complicated grooves" and what not. Urlich is actually one of precursors of such fast and complicated drums(he experimented with drums styles from album to album but he never tried to master any style). Nowadays we get 1000bpm hyper technical 30 element drum kit guys :P

For the mother and baby one, I believe in the full version, the mother didn't know the wall of death, so she was unaware. However, a bunch of metal heads surrounded her and guided her out safely with the child. It was actually super wholesome to see a bunch of metal heads doing that, especially in a wall of death.

@@drvren030 I was saying it was surprising to see a wall of death metal fans protect the mother and the baby. Typically you see violence in mosh pits. Kicks, punches, etc. But this instance was the opposite. There is a full version of it some where on yt.

I love how Jared says "Bye bye, baby." after he sees the baby get ran over by the mosh pit.

Holy hell the Iggy memes . . . . If my coworkers could hear me they would either be concerned or make fun of me for laughing so uncontrollably.

Ozzy shaved his hair back then because he hoped, that nobody of the label or the crew recognize him so he don't had to go on stage. He was just too lazy to perform, he told in his biography.

To me Jared's commentary is funnier than any part of the actual video.
