Nah, we've seen enough of the guy to know he's not up for the job. He literally said after his second losing season that the team was right where he expected them to be. So you are telling me he told the AD before being hired that he expected to have 2 losing seasons in a row and he was still hired? If that's the case, both he and the AD need to be fired. He also refuses to hire an OC even though he is terrible at play calling. He's just a Sun Belt guy that blew his big chance. He won't be missed.

The problem is if you keep playing musical coaches you get a reputation for a "hire and fire" environment. Hard to get quality and proven coaches under those conditions. @@hoofhearted1833 the answer is.......yes. LOL Culture is tough to describe, it's like defining love or success. However, if you have worked for a company with bad culture and then another with good culture......you can visibly SEE and FEEL the difference. With a sports team it can simply mean priorities are out of alignment between all stake holders. It can also mean the players do not value the work that leads to the bi-product of winning games. My guess is that going all the way back to Urban that different folks in control have had different priorities and that has led to poor recruiting and other issues. Add to it the rise of UGA, LSU, and UT and that puts UF fighting up hill. This all combined with a win or else fan base that does not have patience. It takes time and with NIL chaos this is the WORST time to change coaches.

I wanted him at AU when we ran Harsin off. I'm all in with Coach Freeze now though and I think Lane Kiffin would ABSOLUTELY DOMINATE at UF. Like I said, I really like Kiffin, but I hope he stays right where he's at... I think it's a lot harder to sell Ole Miss than schools like UF, UGA, AU, LSU, bammer, etc. Anyway... I'm ranting again, but I'm anxious for AU to get back to relevance and I just think Kiffin at UF would be much harder to beat than Kiffin at Ole Miss.

I never thought I'd like hearing Kiffin's name associated with UF ..... but I'm more than okay with that. I enjoyed the backstory about Jedd Fisch. I'm kinda surprised that he hasn't had more coaching success ..... but it seems like something's missing. Maybe he just doesn't have "it." You can put me in that part of the camp that thinks Mullen might have been just fine with some NIL help. But something seemed to just totally unravel for him after the shoe throwing incident. Hindsight is 20/20. That's why they don't make glasses for asses. Shoot .... if Will Grier hadn't flunked a drug test, Jim McElwain might still be there. After all ... he found a way to win with Treon Harris. Word is that McElwain was never comfortable with the UF way of doing things. I'll say that Mullen's teams seemed much better prepared to play than Napier's teams. And with a much smaller coaching staff and budget.

Coach Napier inherited a difficult situation with the team. For example, only two Gators were drafted this year including those who have transferred out. So, let's not overhype Dan Mullen's recruiting class. In the words of Dan Mullen, "I'll talk about recruiting when it's recruiting season."
