He'll never testify in a criminal case. And the only reason he'll testify in a civil case is because then the jury is allowed to use the fact that he didn't against him.

It's a criminal trial, Caitrina. He cannot be compelled to testify. But he is not prohibited from testifying. If he chooses to do so, he can. It's almost always a bad move. But I agree with what Bruce Rivers said at the outset of this video - Donald Trump is running the defense of this case, not his lawyers. Trump will want to testify. Will insist on it. And it will be a very bad move.

They even used passages from one of his books, that said that he made sure to know where every nickel went. So it would be super odd if he didn't know where 130K+ went.

Because the tax rate is 50% on high income, and gets complicated, the total amount paid to Cohen to offset the taxes was actually ~ $460,000. Ie to get the repayment amount plus his bonus into his pocket after taxes was calculated. It's not just $130K.

There is no prison sentence for this. If he is found guilty, he'll win on appeal because the judge should have recused himself. Nothing will come of this case. The Jack Smith case is gone. Now that it was discovered that the White House sent the classified documents to them right before they raided his home. The infamous photo of the top secret documents strewn about was faked and staged. So that case is gone. The Georgia case is also done now. There isn't anything there. They have asked for a mistrial repeatedly and the judge has refused. I don't know how anyone can be for Biden. Calling Biden normal worries me that there are people thinking that. All these people thinking Trump will go to jail, especially for this case....won't happen. And even somehow he went to prison, the Secret Service has to protect him. So they would have to shut down part of the prison for him. It would be a nightmare. It won't happen. People frothing at the mouth thinking that he'll go to prison are delusional. No grip on reality. He will be found guilty here because he's in a libtard heavy jurisdiction, but there is no prison term and this whole case is garbage. He'll win on appeal, but that will be after the election.

But when you make the case about whether or not the sex occurred, all the state has to do is convince the jury of that, and the payment is assumed afterwards. His lawyers were hamstrung from the beginning

In my opinion, a former prosecutor can become a very good and effective defense attorney. What may be a factor here is that Mr. Blanche has extensive experience as a federal prosecutor where the majority of defendants accept a plea deal and there is little opportunity to develop trial strategies or witness examination skills - direct or cross. He did have a short span of time with a NY firm (about 5 years) but I do not know to what degree he developed criminal defense strategies. Moreover, Mr. Blanche has an admittedly difficult client who wants to control the defense strategy.

  • @Canuck1000

I heard the same thing. It was Glenn Kirschner, who also provides excellent coverage of the trial. He said that prosecutors are trained to look and focus on the facts whereas defense attorneys are trained to try to poke holes and create doubt (generally speaking). Hence, it is difficult for a long-time prosecutor to switch mind frame and be creative to create doubts. Glenn talked from experience when he discussed Todd Blanche and this topic.
