And Hansen plays on that, by acting as though he's an authority figure, telling them to keep their hands out of their pockets etc. While that's a measure for their own safety, it also helps give the impression that he's police, and the creeps think they can talk their way out of being arrested.

I remember thinking that I would like to be in Chris Hansen's position on these. My delivery and what I said would have been vastly different and crudely profane. My first question would probably be along the lines of "WTF are you thinking going to a house to (expletive) a 12 year old girl, you know that your cellies are going to make you pay for that at Jackson State Prison and the penalty for that is mandatory life in prison without any chance of parole -- aka you are going to die in Jackson State Prison after doing about 50 years and your corpse will be buried out back behind the prison after you die". I would also have the cops waiting in the kitchen to come out and make the arrest right in the house after I am done convincing him to incriminate himself on international television (one person here on YT informed me that these were also broadcast in Sweden). Also, Chris Hansen attempted to do these himself without a major TV network on YT and a few episodes are available here.

Atleast the channels I watched there just regular people who meet up in public places which puts the public in danger. Chris Hansen didn't do any of these in Michigan but since this activity carries LIFE in prison without parole here I am sure anyone caught trying to hook up with a 12 year old really regrets it. An attempt usually carries 1/2 of the sentence of actually committing the act but 1/2 of life is still life. Michigan also has the toughest prisons in the country -- by far.

The first guy was a food critic. He couldn't believe the cookies were home baked. Blew all his expectations.

Crazy part is that the first guy actually did beat the case. His lawyer successfully discredited PJ to the Lee County system because they refused to turn over the actual hard drive containing those chat logs. This interaction probably makes him look bad enough, though.

Yeah no kidding. It's bad enough that the police have you six ways to Sunday... But getting your face on TV across from Chris Hansen for all of America to see... Dude, just turn around, walk out the door and get cuffed.

How did you gloss by him stumbling off the back stairs without even the slightest hint of laughing. That cracks me up everytime I see it and I've seen it hundreds of times. Just something about this clown furthering embarrassing himself, gets me right in the funny bone.

I thought about that too. Only explanation (aside from somehow not noticing it) is that this is not the first time he's seen it, and the surprise wore off. Anyone seeing that the first time is gonna laugh for sure - it's just so comical in a straight up goofy way.

Naw. Child predators are the absolutely worse. Worse than murderers. Ya kill something, their suffered is over. You violate children this way, they all their lives. Many turn to drugs and alcohol. Some take their lives.

That's how it's supposed to work. Cops and prosecutors should always follow the law and the constitution. That way you know that the conviction is legit. Unfortunately people don't always do that, so you get people who want to bed the rules to things done.

@7:42, their "protocol" should not involve 3 different people shouting different instructions at the guy. It should be one person giving clear specific instructions. Them all shouting at once is just begging to set him up for resisting.
