Galloway nailed it. Second speaker fail to understand that Trump is literally mentally ill, and that cases like the dismantling of the Iran deal is not some kind of 3 dimensional chess from Trump´s side, it´s in fact just doing it because Obama made the deal. Basically to simplify Trump´s policy. Fight for the white "race" and do the opposite of what Obama did, and dismantle his legacy. Only place where Trump agree with Obama is that war is good business, and that is why he increased the war effort 4 times the level the Obama administration

I like Galloway but some of his reasoning is circular. His claim that the Western International Order has "Failed" because there are "ILLEGAL acts of War" is a self defeating claim. The concept of condemning a war as ILLEGAL only makes sense if you first admit there is some International Order that asserts an "ILLEGAL War" is a sensible concept in the first place. Galloway isn't taking into account that the very concept of condemning a war as "ILLEGAL" is itself a success of the International Order he is condemning. For most of human history there was just WAR. An "Illegal War" wasn't even a sensible concept.

I like Galloway a lot but he is only good at emphasizing failures, he doesn't have the ability to acknowledge success or understand relative degrees of failure. If you can't acknowledge things that have worked about the western global order or draw distinctions between degrees of failure, then what contrasting measure are you using to claim things have "Failed"? Failed relative to what? In a world Of 8 billion people there will always be chaos to point to, if you can't draw relative distinctions between the phenomena in the world then how are you going to create a constructive path to minimizing the worst of those outcomes?

If you aren't close to your local communities, it becames infinitely easier for corporate media(s) to co-opt your mind. That's just a psychological fact.

When war is business, peace is an existential threat. George is spot on. The other guy, justifies his crimes the same way those he supports to destroy do... The fact there has been no accountability, derails his point about "calling it illegal, proves there is a rules based order." And now, those who exposed war crimes are the ones paying for it, by the very same "rules based order".

Final comment by Leonard was very telling 'The very fact that you can talk about an illegal act means that there means there must have been have been a law' ... he was referring to Galloway's reference to the Iraq War being an illegal act under International Law. Queue a resounding crescendo of applause from the chattering intelligentsia .... Wow. How utterly frustrating for Galloway. He was given less time to speak, rebuked for shouting & spoken to in a very condescending manner by the forum 'mediator'. An utterly neo-liberal environment for him to have to speak in for sure, I have no doubt nobody there has ever had to endure a day of hardship in their life, all card carrying supporters of the 'Blairite wing of the Labour Party for sure.

Yes. This last comment drew a warm round of applause from an audience baked in media delusion and grasping at Leonard's cheap rhetorical trick-- that 'international law' is an ideal 'we' are striving to achieve rather than an everyday playground of hypocrisy and deception where the very idea of international law is used to hide continuous mass murder across the globe. That would be, and is, unthinkable for them. It's who they are. The enablers of what they pretend to oppose.

Leonard's final comment in no way invalidated anything Galloway said, George clearly said he does believe in international law, but that it has to be followed, so Leonard final rant was a complete non sequitur - saying that we can point to something being illegal only thanks to the fact we have laws is stating the obvious, and it's not addressing the problem, it's pretty much saying nothing, like the rest of Leonard's ramblings. And the mediator was a condescending asshole.

As always and believe me I know what I am talking about as I am International Lawyer former lecturer in University (now retired) George Galloway is absolutely correct. His major problem is that he is not an academic and that makes academics very nervous that someone as Galloway ca wipe the floor with them at any time of the day. Galloway is using pure logic and is not burdened with some failing philosophy but is rather very deeply entrenched in the facts and correlations between them.

Easier said than done when taking the moral high ground. I think George ideas are way better. The other guy thinks he's immune to all the mistakes others before him made but George knows that's not true and is more honest and pragmatic. Mike Tyson once said everybody has a plan in the boxing ring until they get hit. Same with this guy debating with George. He's all righteous and morally high in the totem pole until he succumbs to mistakes when he's confronted with an actual situation instead of a hypothetical situation.

Mark Leonard's 'rules based global order': from post WWII 1945 to now, since he considers WWII to be the most justified war against Nazi Germany, only counting US under pre-Trump regimes, Invasions & armed attempts (regardless of successful or not) of regime change/CIA Coups: China, Italy, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Phillipines, Austria, Costa Rica, Albania, Syria (several attempts), Egypt, Iran (several attempts), Guatemala, Indonesia (several times), Lebanon, Iraq (several times), Congo, Laos (several times), Dominican Republic (several times), Cuba, Brazil, Vietnam, Pakistan, Cambodia, Afghanistan (several times), El Salvador, Chad, Nicaragua, Grenada, Panama, Haiti, Yugoslavia, Palestinian areas (long continued effort), Honduras, Venezuela, Libya and Yemen. Thats about 80 years worth of invasions and political situation worthy of intervention directly and where US got caught afterwards. If you count all the atrocities and regime changes conducted via covert intelligence or indirect supply of arms manufactured by the US, you can expect another list just as long, with the added bonus of US having a hand in almost every genocide as defined by the ICC since 1945. Are they done for oil, money, or the best intentions? Does it matter at this point? Lay the death of a few million at their feet and see if any type of justification can save their conscience. "The US media have induced this notion that our foreign policy are 'blundering efforts to do good' in our population. Problem is, there is not a shred of evidence to suggest this is true'.
