Judges are supposed to entertain arguments, to listen, ask questions, then render their judgement based on the law, in this case the constitution. I think the problem is that judges should NEVER be appointed by partisan groups or elected representatives, and that the law should be fair and have clear consequences for elected officials who violate it.

Trump is a classic narcissist using the classic narc playbook. For example, he drops these hints of actions he’ll take as if it’s a joke, planting the idea and gauging the reaction/response. By doing this, he’s weakening boundaries and laying the ground work for pushing back goalposts. And it works. Rather than be incensed or horrified by statements such as, “I’ll be dictator for a day,” or making claims he’ll make retribution, etc., his base laughs at it as though it’s hyperbole. But then it sinks in and as they get comfortable with it they begin saying stupid things like, “Well, maybe we need a dictator to clean house for a bit.” They imagine what it would be like to shut down all their imagined enemies, maybe not considering what that actually means. But the idea settles in and now we’re seeing “Trump: Dictator for Life” crap. God help us all because this path is how America dies.

The fix is already in. The only answer is a turnout so large, the fix doesn't work. Vote like you're voting for the right to vote. *Because you are.*

Impeachment can be avoided by 1: Pardoning oneself, therefore no crime 2: If it's an Official Act it can't be a High Crime or Misdemeanor 3: two thirds majority needed in Senate ,Republicans have shown they won't do this to Trump after an insurrection , imagine if a death squad was on standby as well. Impeachment of a President will be Null and Void

They're giving him the power the constitution defines for him, in our republic the president is given near total authority to perform executive actions, he cannot create laws, he cannot sit as a judge in a legal court, otherwise pertaining to his role there is little he cannot do. That is why the founders created impeachment and gave that power to the legislative branch, that is the only formal check on the executive branch.

It really is tricky but I would rather remove the supreme Court entirely and leave these cases to the people, when one is brought up people would get a month to vote and the opinion that receives the most votes would be the winner.

I can believe the gall to think they can reverse rights that generations of Americans grew up with & try to help a fascist in plain sight.

The Justices need to do their job! It's why they are there! They should have been challenged, right before the American people and called out for their bullsh*t! We are not stupid! We see what's going on! 😡

If the not so Supreme Court sends it back to the district court. Why then do we need a Supreme Court? Look at the money the taxpayers could save.

I’m truly sickened by this, we are making way for a dictatorship. I honestly can’t believe that this is happening.

1) Read NYSRPA v Bruen in its entirety. 2) Then read majority, and dissent. 3) Then read how each Justice voted. 4) Then see who appointed each Justice. You will find the statists (those who seek to subordinate the individual to the state ie; “fascists”)

If the supreme court rules in Trump's favour then remember that they are also voting to allow any other President to use the same ruling. Biden would be within his rights as determined by the supreme court, to take whatever measures are needed to protect democracy.

If a president has absolute immunity, then there would be no reason they couldn't throw justices off the Supreme Court simply because they didn't like the way they ruled on an issue. Their justification would merely have to be because I said so.

The Court is supposed to conserve the Constitution. They did just that.

I understand the reasoning on why SC justice appointments are lifetime, but clearly that isn’t working out for the people of the country. It has in fact backfired, as we can all witness in it’s disgusting handling of this immunity case.

We need one justice for each circuit. It's only fair that each individual circuit has it's own justice to represent it's "circuit" at the supreme court. However many justices we need to add to the supreme court then do it...

I think it’s time to have the public step in. 1.) make the Supreme Court and any other political position to have a term limit. No longer than 4 years. 2.) Since it’s a PUBLIC position that they also carry the same insurance that public servants receive. Having worked with insurance they receive the highest level of healthcare and we the public purchase these plans for them. Very very comfortable benefits for free. 3.) if something is on the table for determination that they complete this NON STOP until a resolution is established. Pushing time lines, leaving office for 6 months, yada, yada, yada, has to stop. TODAY! Do the job you’re elected BY THE PEOPLE to do. It’s time the USA makes major changes in leadership in ALL areas. In the case of Trump- why has it taken years? If it were a normal citizen we wouldn’t receive that kind of treatment. We would be held in jail until a verdict was determined. It seems that laws and things are cherry picked to fit the case of high profile persons of power. Look at Thomas and the gifts that were not reported. That’s dishonest and untrustworthy for one of the highest ranking judges to rule over America. Immediate discharge should’ve taken place including loss of every benefit the job came with. Still don’t understand why we have them in office FOR LIFE.

This is what happens when people totally lose confidence in the courts. There was a time when people ignored stories like this because they knew the court wouldn't make such a stupid decision. Now it is up in the air. I don't blame people for losing their minds right now. They probably should. This court has given us every reason to distrust them.

The point is the SCOTUS appears to have already helped Trump by delaying their ruling. The likelihood that they will send this back to a lower court for further consideration of the details will delay the outcome even longer. No matter what they rule now, the appearance that this court has been politicized is evident.

But that’s why SCOTUS wants to delay its decision until after the election. They don’t want Biden to be given the blanket immunity from prosecution prior to the election that they are willing to grant Trump if he is re-elected. They want to keep their powder dry. If they gave it before the election then Biden would have carte blanch to bar Trump from the election arguing, with good reason, that he was acting in the service of protecting the constitution from sliding into a dictatorship. That would be within his presidential remit and he would be assured immunity from prosecution.

This is an important case for the next 200+ years. All of the justices are asking great questions as to what the limits of Presidential immunity is, and if he has any. Let them continue to hear this case and do their job. I’m anxiously awaiting their ruling.

the current President should wait for the opinions of scotus-- then instead of sending Seal Team6...., just dissolve the scotus and assign from fresh, since this one so biased- voila "official act"
