Judge has no leeway in sentencing if found guilty of these charges by a jury. The judge HAS to sentence by guildlines.

When trump stated "the free press is the enemy of the people" I knew then I couldn't vote for him. And that was back around 2015.

Anyone that didn't expect him to pull absolutely anything to maintain power wasn't listening to him. It was obvious that he'd have to be dragged out of the White House. The judge should "violate" him into jail and set a hearing on the matter for one or two weeks out. Let him get finger printed, have his mug shot taken again and have a cavity search. Have him put on the pink BVD's and the orange jumpsuit and sit in jail eating the same garbage as the other prisoners. Two possible outcomes 1.) He learns to keep his mouth shut or 2.) he ends up sitting in jail until the trial. With situation #2 there won't be anymore delay tactics. Now that is a bonus.

I can see a scenario where the traitor pleads for a bargain that includes never to run again. It would be best for the country. Just take a look at where congress is now, an eye for an eye going after Hunter Biden. Not at all carrying out the matters they were elected to solve

There will be an excuse that the regulation security for ex-president can't be adequately provided in the setting of a regular jail. So I think they will settle for some special confinement. Which will prove that justice system is not equal.

Personally, I prefer candidates without indictments

Trump was the only person in the current indictment to make the case as simple as possible. That way it can be finished before the election and put him in jail. All the other people can be indicted separately later. That's the same plan as with the Capitol rioters. There have been hundreds of separate cases, with 500 convicted so far, and 500 more to go. Multiple defendants in one case makes it more complicated and take longer. If you try them separately, you can use multiple judges in multiple courtrooms, and get done sooner.
