@@MC-bd5ub Well technically he does, it's not like Truman lives as a poor man. He had a fake job, received probably fake money as a salary, and he used it to buy food and other comodities. That food he bought, and all he wanted to buy, was his real pay, because his fake money wasn't obviously paying for all that, as it was fake money,, they were giving all that stuff to him for working at being Truman. It's still awful though.

It's very true, Truman is the only people in all that false world who live their own unique life, but while the other thousands of actors who are just filling that world are living an empty life as well as including the creator of that program and its workers who make that show work and last it's worth mentioning that billions of people or viewers see the life of only one person who is Truman.

I think a more interesting twist would have been having him discover the fraud earlier in the movie and then go rogue getting revenge on everyone. Disabling all the cameras and torturing people until they tell him the truth, and then killing them anyway. The whole town terrorized, never knowing when he's going to show up. In a extra (i think you can find on YT as 'truman show - rare video'), they show that the plan was to have a couple of actresses on the collage that Truman study and that whoever attracted him the most was going to be he's wife. And they even talk about one of them cheating their way to be notice by Truman. It's funny AF XD

The more time that goes by, the less the setting feels like a fantastical backdrop for a character study, and more like something that's actually realistic. Life-streamers are basically their own little Truman show, only they're aware of their status. A world where an actual Truman show could happen doesn't seem that far off.

Pause at 3:50 and 3:56 The magazine are subliminal messages. At 3:50 you can mags with word "Child" on them to encourage Tuman to have a kid with his wife. His neighbors dog is also on the mags most likly to try influence his attitude towards dogs. 3:56. We see mags about gardening and golfing, which see Truman do later for fun unware that these were inplanted into his head. We also see cooking magazines which are most likely to get him to appreciate his wife meals and product placements. Letter ar work when Truman rips the eyes out of beauty magazines if you pause and try to read the pages you'll find the director wrote articles design to try to get Truman to forget about Sylvia. One article the model talks taking pride in being a "doctor", like Trumans wife. The other article talk about taking pride in your job and freinds to try discourage Truman from leaving for Fiji.

At first sight that I saw this movie I felt a horrible martyrdom living in a completely false world but I see that in reality, although everything is a montage, TRUMAN is a unique person in that world who lives his own life, but instead while the thousands of actors who They are only filler in that world and in people it is to be crazy to dedicate a good part of their life making a double life that is guiding those pamphlets of that false world of truman as well as both the creator of that program and his workers create the reality of only one character and I also want to mention lastly that billions of people around the world are so focused and dedicated seeing the life of only one person, who is truman although his truman life was false but he lived his own life and not as the rest of the filler actors, the creator and workers of the show and also the billions of viewers watching a whole life of just one person. but it also makes an allegory of our real world
