In our review of the TrueForm Runner Treadmill, we go over how it performed for us and what we think can be improved.
Overall, the TrueForm Runner is a powerful non-motorized treadmill that’s popular among athletes and runners. It can be found in homes, garages, commercial gyms, and sports facilities.
This is the premium model from TrueForm and it has a practically indestructible build. It’s heavy at 350 lbs so we recommend keeping it in a designated space, but it has front wheels and rear handles to move it when you need to.
The Runner doesn’t have a motor so the belt is powered by your feet. The only noise you hear from the treadmill is the movement of the belt and your feet hitting the deck. Manual treadmills take some getting used to, so be aware of this if it’s your first time using one.
The deck is a rubber-slat belt on this model, but it can be purchased with turf or rubberized track covering to use with cleats or track spikes. This makes the Runner ideal for sports athletes who want to warm up and train without changing their shoes.
What makes the TrueForm Runner stand out from other curved, manual treadmills is the shallow curve to the deck. It has a minimal curve which has been proven to help promote good running mechanics. It also encourages a midfoot strike. Compared to other manual treadmills, the belt feels harder to get moving and harder to sprint on, especially with poor form.
The Runner has an incredible weight limit of 700 lbs while walking and 450 lbs while running, so it’s a beast! We do think the console can be improved upon to include more functionality and metrics tracking, but overall the TrueForm Runner is an excellent treadmill if you’re looking for something that’s capable of handling a ton of running because it is practically bomb-proof!

Can you please compare proform carbon T7, Horizon T101, with an older model of Nordic track, the model T7.0S. Both are semi commercial foldable tread mills, comparable in specs with 2.6, 2.5 and 2.75 CHP machines respectively. Great detailed comparison videos, across brands and within brands. We especially like the "best of" categories. We regularly check for updates! Thank you.

Another great review. I had seen your other review on the Trueform Trainer. How does the Runner feel underfoot compared to the Trainer? Did the impact feel noticeably different? Also what about the noise level? The Runner seemed quieter than the Trainer on your videos.

Thanks for watching! They actually feel really similar, we didn't notice any difference underfoot between them with the standard belt that we have on the Runner. The Runner is a little quieter but they're pretty comparable noise-wise.

Is walking on Trueform Runner much more taxing than normal walking? I am wondering whether you could substantially increase heart rate merely by walking on the True Form to point where you could get decent Zone 1 workout (50-60% of max HR).

It is a bit more exerting than walking normally because you're moving the belt which requires more posterior activation of your leg muscles. So, you can definitely get a great Zone 1 workout while walking on the TrueForm Runner.

This thing would be perfect if the belt was 22 inches and had resistance.

Unfortunately we don't really see any manual treadmills over 19-20 inches wide.
