True Temper Flint Edge Kelly Works Double Bit: 1960's Six Ridge, Hand Carved Handle

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This build was filmed in February of 2023, and finalized in August 2023. Sometimes Projects ebb and flow.
1960's True Temper Flint Edge Kelly Works six ridge double bit. Tastefully restored and furnished with a custom hand carved Ash and Walnut handle. All shot in 4K!
The build was probably 25-30 hours of work. Could it be faster? sure. But that wouldn't be as fun! i like to take my time, and use as many hand tools as i can. The occasional new fandangled electronic tool is used for convenience. but dammit I like my hand tools!

The project came out great. I haven't used white oak for a handle yet but the more I see it, the more I'm curious to try it. The walnut compliments it nicely. Very clean job on the bluing too!

I have been looking for some white oak in my area to make a handle but it is so expensive around here.

Beautiful work. I’ve recently become a big white oak handle fan. Up here in NH it’s been used for a long time and holds up nicely.

Amazing video! What is the tool you're using when shaping the handle? It's like a Shinto rasp on steroids!
