Thanks for what you do Mike. When I was 17 my uncle, who was an OTR driver with Parkhill out of OKC stopped to visit. He invited me to ride shotgun with him. I was a week into summer. Jumped on his invite, riding shotgun all summer longhouse, and hopped out of that Peterbuilt a week before my Sr year in high school. Got to see this beautiful country from coast to coast, and incurred a traveling bone. Been all over the world since then. Thx for letting me ride shotgun once again and reliving some one of the best times of my life. Breaker Breaker 19, you got the Alley Cat, do I you copy?

As a resident of Colorado, I'm really glad I found this channel and subscribed. I've been on most of these routes many times in my Toyota 4R.

When you're driving on I-70, you're driving to Fruita, from Silverthorne, NOT Silverton. Silverton is on U.S. 550, between Ouray, and Durango.

Pretty view when you start up. I am sitting in a dark house with only KZread to watch. Power for us went out at 7:30pm. I am also listening to police scanner on my cellphone. Heard a call to dispatch calling in all of day shift....thinking Martial Law??? I saw in Reddit that President Trump tweeted (my Twitter isn't working) "something happened" then he calls for an announcement at 9am EST.....what is up? Be safe in CA. Now back to watch your video.

Hey trucker I see why they call them the Rocky Mountains. We have a place in south Western Australia they call Weedonbushes. I guess you can imagine how that got it’s name. : )

@13:30 I mean I know you have to scoot to the left lane when there's someone parked in the emergency Lane and you were on top of it and it's not like it's your fault because somebody was in the passing Lane refusing to get out of your way people drive around in their Subarus and their soccer mom SUVs with their heads up their smartphones and the first thing that happens when they cause a crash is a grab an attorney and try to sue the truck driver and the company I mean what do they expect you to do slam on the brakes and have somebody pile into your trailer I don't know how you drivers deal with the nerve-wracking shit you have to go through everyday much respect Mountain Man Mike.

Off to the right at 26:18 you can see the old hwy, before the interstate, it is a fairly sharp turn, almost a hairpin, that killed a lot of truckers, back in the day.

those franchise stores make all the old towns look the same, too bad

Yeah I forgot about the brake on my test and stalled at the lights near the test Centre nearly finished examiner passed me I asked him why he didn't fail me he said you kept control and went when the lights changed sure love the mountains you go through bigger version of Scotland why do most Volvo's brakes squeal same with the steering rack a noise comes from that area Volvo's I drove in Britain seemed OK safe trucking

I.m surprised at the lack of comments about the roundabout (or "rotary"as i think you call them). From the UK in the late eighties i drove from Houston to San Francisco and didn't see one. I stopped in the truck stop in El Paso one evening and got talking to some truckers who'd come down from (i think) Oregon,and i mentioned on a previous visit i'd seen a roundabout in Orange County ,California. I recall one of them said to me "a what"and i explained "roundabout".His response was "Oh,you mean a rotary,they got one up in Colorado"!

I wanted to see the Rockies!
