That's why I still keep a atlas on hand,even though I already know the route I still like to open it and look,plan it out because like you said that GPS can go out at any time

Love your videos. FYI The law requires people to move over for emergency vehicles and tow trucks. there is no requirement for trucks

You could have got off on Panola and had breakfast. These folks around here will not move over lane when we are on the highway working an accident. We’ve had units hit on the side. They are expanding the highway. Pretty soon you will a lane that will go over using a bridge. The person at the DOT office looking at the camera was drunk. I’m very thankful for the trucker. We work accidents everyday all day on that stretch of I20 to I285. Be safe

Old school trucker here. I'm used to the "maintain your lane and speed" at all times. That was the law, until the TSA did a study on driver's behavior and habits while emergency vehicles were on the shoulder. A lot of motorists would inadvertently drift towards the flashing lights without realizing it. I drive the most congested area of the U.S. If I had to move lanes for every Tom, Dick and Harry on the shoulder. I'd never get down the road, so I move for emergency vehicles only. I'm a pro with decades of experience. I take it on a case by case situation. I see more dangerous situations with drivers slamming on brakes while moving lanes than just maintaining lanes.

Yes traffic in Atlanta can be very hectic a specially the top end by I-285 & Georgia 400 can hectic I lived in Atlanta from 1996 till 2003

You're speaking facts about discourteous drivers. I was really intimidated driving when I first moved to Dallas, Texas. If I put on my blinkers to change lanes, the cars would speed up and then drive alone beside me. SMH

I’m not a truck driver but sitting in traffic can be tiring sometimes more than actually driving.

I kind of miss being in a truck but that traffic situation brought me back to my senses. Nice to see someone being blessed but I was curious about those fuel caps, so do they lock? If so, where do you get them? Great video. G

I have a fuel route since I'm a company driver so I have to stop more often than I would normally and it averages between 180 to 300 every stop

I move over no matter who is on the side of the road i seen enough accidents when I was in the fire service people now just don't care and if I see a blinker on a big truck I turn my headlights on and off

As a Commercial Driver in my personal vehicle, I move over & anyone that I know I teach that. But most people aren’t told that. It’s being taught now in 5 hour classes but people don’t think saftey by default. They put themselves @ risk without realizing it. Just my opinion of what I see as a professional driver.

I saw that incident this past Monday coming into Illinois out of Iowa as it looked like a guy might have been putting gas in his car and someone hit him and he didn't make it of course

I was just in Atlanta yesterday it was terrible

Because truck drivers are sometimes difficult to deal with some car /other vehicles have taken on their attributes. # Sad but true

Not really, because if you are in traffic, it would be on duty, not off duty. So your 70 still counts down. If I’m stuck in traffic, I’ll manually switch it to on duty. It saves on my 11 hour, but not my 70.
