Welcome back and please stay safe out there. It had to be tough after a long home time but you always pull it off once you hit that seat. It would be great if you could toss out a reminder that it does cost to stay home and it is not free. You have your world in order but not all Drivers do. it is funny when you do the math for the 1st load back out and see $1.666 per mile while you are so positive...... I hope you find humor in that as well. Thank you for spending the time and efforts to share your journey with others. LOL on the Scratchers.

I took six weeks off back in December and January when my wife got sick. My company truck only driven 3.8 miles while I was out to shuttle trailers around on the yard.

In trucking for 20 years, been on and off the road. Owned my own truck and authority. Been home since 2020 don’t plan on going back out looking at retirement. I learned that the road is not for me. Working local tankers now love it home every night.

Jasmine I have done a lot of different jobs in my life, after I graduated from high school many years ago I've worked in a factory and I've worked with horses for many years while I also delivered pizza at night, I didn't start driving truck until I was 50 years old and I absolutely love driving truck for a living

Hi Jasmine. You will be coming through San Antonio soon!!! I would love to meet you but you like rolling at night and I am old and love sleeping at night. You already know the traffic is crazy on I35 because of construction in San Antonio, and traffic is always, crazy in Austin. You can go around Austin and San Antonio using the I30 toll road, but it is very expensive. God bless you beautiful lady.

Jasmine sometimes you can get loaded or unloaded pretty quickly at a shipper or receiver but sometimes it can take hours to get loaded or unloaded at a shipper or receiver

I have done local work several times, the hours are longer than most perceive, make sure you wrap your head around 11-14 hour days, the industry I was in had slow and busy times, so when slow, 8-10 hour days and the home time most imagine but when busy, I was in my truck waiting for my 10 to finish so I could go again, meaning 6 hours of home time.

I have been off the road for more than two years. If I had to leave out tomorrow, it would not seem not enough time at home.
