I'm now in my 80th year,, time has flown by since I drove down to Iran and Iraq in what was then a superb outfit Scania, no Acon though. Always looked forward to The Mocamp Truck stop (1973). Chewed over a few miles there in Istanbul, then on after a couple of nights break to the then old Tihre pass. Must not forget to thank the lads who got me going after pistons blew leaving Bagdad on one trip. Towed me all the way to Adana in Turkey, what great friends and mates we made in those days, those were truly the days of "Knights of the Roads" Many thanks for these photos, lots of memories. "Big Mo" Southampton, (now retired!!! but still can dream!!!

Yes remember the Mocamp well Maurice. I'll be 80 myself next year and I can't believe what we did what we did then. I remember Tahir very well also and have been over it many times. We were adventurers mate, pioneers, learning bits of Turkish and Arabic to get by. Happy days.
Thanks for the beautiful photos ! Look to the comfortable trucks we are driving today, what a difference ! Greetz from Holland.
Brought back memories seeing Leggett Freightways trucks. Exactly forty years ago I worked for them on a Charnock Richard night trunk out of the Chingford depot. My transport manager was a man named Alan Gilzean, in a former profession one of the two Spurs G men along with Jimmy Greaves and one of the greatest men I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Brilliant ME photos - thank you very much. Nice to see some British lorries out there. Keep them coming!
Merci pour ces beaux souvenirs .
Nice to see Howe (laterACH) truck 3.11, I have a pic of XJN934S truck at Winslow Bucks around 1978, no trailer, as it was one of those dirt car parks with big puddles, today has houses on it😂. Davies Turner has a few credits in a book called Baghdad Trucker, interesting read of trucking to middle east, and there's always a Borderer in the mix, great days and memories 😁
Awesome. I love these ME photos. Pity the poor guys in the day cab Guy and Atkinson (amongst several others!!)😮
You know these vehicles even had something called a gearstick 😱
All that hard work so long ago, respect to the drivers of that era
👍❤️😎
👏👏👏👌
