It looks like the factory installed the awning bag upside down over the awning assembly. The zipper should be on the bottom to keep water from freely entering the bag in the rain. It shouldn't be too hard to unbolt the awning from the backing plate, flip the bag around, and reinstall.

Hey Jesse, great video as always my friend! I laughed a lot at 6:22, the risks we take i guess when working on our trucks 😉. Dont think you have to spend more money than necessary on this type of accesories, it will last just as long a big branded one, just need to be careful with it as with any other. Maybe if you use the mounts they come with the awning but the prinsu ones it won’t let you at least for me it didn’t

No I noticed some on Chris’s truck though could be because he has a lightbar up there and didn’t get the weather stripping for the prinsu but as far as for mine not that I’ve noticed 🤔

How has this budget awning held up?

It's still backwards you want the zipper down to keep water out even though we have great weather in Cali, its a manufacturing defect.. if you search yesom fix on KZread you'll find a guy who shows how to correct it. This is what happens when going for the $100 ebay special, took 10 mins to fix.. so still great savings!

Yea it’s easy to remove the bolts from the bag and flip the bar but for the price even if it jacks up I don’t mind 😂 this was video was made all for fun thanks for the tip though 👍👍 I appreciate it

I do not anymore I broke it going threw a drive threw csr wash LOL

Usually the awnings are zipper side down to allow water out that might collect from rain, but it's a budget awning so you get what you pay for lol

Stuntman Travis lmfao yes it’s a cheap one I just got it to make the video but yea it’s actually the first way I installed was correct a couple people in the comments stated it’s backwards from the factory looked up a video and it’s true lol so it’s just mis manufactured but it’s an easy fix just unbolt inside the bag and it’s fix flips the correct way that being said for the price can’t beat it

Still running it :) only thing one of the clips from the outside snapped but that’s about it

I been runnin my tent on the roof so far it’s ok

I see that yescom provides mounting brackets for their awnings looks like some drilling is involved. Is there a reason why you choose to not go this option? I’m looking to install this owning in my truck that has a generic roof rack therefore I don’t believe I’d be able to get “custom” mounting brackets such as yours.

Jay Ranger the brackets that it came with I felt would rust (maybe giving them a quick coat of paint would be good) and also I don’t think they’d work for my roof rack I think there meant for stock oem roof racks, Also another thing I noticed is yescom awning come backwards I gues the zipper is suppose to be face down like I installed it before but everyone told me they’ve fixed that issue now
