Thanks for watching guys! All parts and info are linked in description! Here is the last video with more details on gas strut placement with the old style lift hinges. kzread.info/dash/bejne/o2Gs27OHiNuqiaw.htmlsi=LG7IcGN03mMALyLV As always, I’m open to feedback for improvements. Your input is how I ended up redoing this lift system and I’m so glad I did! Don’t forget to subscribe! Thanks again!

Looks good, maybe anchor the middle of the end awnings to the hinge area so you don’t have to try and tuck it in while closing? Also creating a couple bungee points on the sides you can hook up before closing to bring the sides in so the lid doesn’t pinch it. Just a thought, looks good!

Awesome, the new hinges look good and certainly look like they will work much better! Great explaination of the how and why.

I wonder if velcroing the fabric to the support would eliminate the need to have any type of outside bungee cord.... It would just fold in with the support. Just a thought.

I farted around with the roof lift system and struts for weeks to get it dialed. Not all at once, over time. Finally got it working as needed, roofnopens and closes and is centered. Now I just need to upgrade the gas struts. I knew I should have gone for surface mount thin solar panels... those 2 x 100 watt panels with all the wood my roof is made from is a bit more than I calculated. Lol

What overall weight do you think this thing will be fully loaded?is the suspension gonna have to be modified?i didnt watch the very 1st video,so i dont know if you coverd that,my apologies,i kinda like more of the hands on video stuff vs the talking.the build is looking pretty good.i keep trying to think of folding panels instead of fabric

I think it will be around 300lbs when done! My suspension is already setup to handle the weight! Folding panels was considered but in the end it just adds more weight and is far more complex to design which I don’t feel comfortable tackling. I’d rather do fabric and have lots of windows!

So this will be a pitched roof? I thought it would be a flat roof with canvas on all 4 sides
