Truck 50 responding to assist Station 905 on a reported fire at an elementary school. Crews had a smoke condition inside that was traced back to an hvac/electrical malfunction. Willow Street Fire Company. Taken 6/28/2023

A: Our fire house is located in the town of Willow Street, just south of Lancaster City, Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
Q: "What is the spinning thing?"
A: That is called the "Roto-Ray," it is a spinning light designed to catch drivers attention.
Q: "Why is the call so far away?" or "Why does it take so long to get there?"
A: Many of our responses, or at least many of the ones that are uploaded are responding to assist other departments. Usually another firehouse can be seen or is passed by who is already on the call. We can reach the far end of our first due in West Lampeter Twp within 5 minutes, and in Providence Twp about 7.

A: For dash cams I use a GoPro Hero 7, helmet cam videos I use a FireCam 1080

In your Q&A, the distance is something that I can sympathise with. A small city near mine recently decided to strike an agreement with the city that I live in to deliver firefighting services. They used to have their own, but it has just gotten too expensive for them to maintain a firefighting force, and they just did not have anywhere near the capacity that my city has. My city ended up building a new station right next to one of the highway ramps which should allow them to appropriately cover that small city.

How long on average does it take all of you guys to reach the station, load into the truck, and go en route?
Did these guys pack over night bag they are going to have to stop for fuel
I noticed driving along the windy parts of the road..... There were several road sings stating a 90 degree bend in the road ahead (9.01, 9.11, 9.38, 9.48), but the bends were like about 30-50 degrees. There was 3 of 4 of these signs, but the bend was nowhere near the amount the sign said. This could be very dangerous for someone who does not know the area. After several of these signs, an unfamiliar driver might ignore the sign and go faster, thinking all the bends (stated at 90 degrees) are only 30-50 degree bends, and suddenly, an actual 90 degree bend appears, they are going too fast, and crash. Neared the end of the video, there actually was a curve ahead (30-50 degree) sign (10.38), so why are all the curves in the road not marked at 30-50 degree, and not at 90 degree???

I'm Dutch (and we don't have such things as well) but I think that is called a gyrolight. Basically a rotating warning light but instead of having it rotate with the light-beams rotating in the horizontal plane, the light continously shines forward, but rotates around.

@@weeardguyIt’s actually called a RotoRay and it’s designed to help grab attention of vehicles in front of you. They come in a variety of lighting colors being red, white, blue, and green in most areas.
