Good video, thanks! I do have a comment though as I too have the TroyBuilt, 30" blade that needs replacing. I had set aside some time this morning to change it. I leaned the mower over on its left side to keep away from the carburetor that leaks if tilted to the right. Now the under belly was exposed, I got to work. I had the 15/16th socket, and tried for about an hour to loosen the "The Bolt, (Nut) That Wouldn't Budge". The mower is 9 years old, and all without replacing the blade until now. I had the leverage, penetrating oil, and the strength to do the job, but it just wouldn't move. I had to go to Harbor Freight to buy a impact wrench which did the trick. Ten minutes into using this beast of a wrench, the job was finished. Moral of the story, "Stay on top of any repairs, and don't let a little rust spoil your day. Thanks again, and God Bless!

Thank you for the video. This really helped me in a pinch. I’ve owned my new TB30r for about 1 week and I hit a hidden spike in the front yard. ( cable company?). The blade was ruined ( I thinks the shaft is ok) and I ran to Lowe’s to get a new blade. I was in a hurray to get this job done so I quickly checked your video to get the blade number and the socket size for the change. Everything went smoothly for the change thanks to your video post.

Good video.. I have a Troy Bilt riding mower just like you have about the same age too.. Mine is doing great too. I have to compliment you on how clean your riding mower is, you could almost eat off it and even underneath. I put mine on my trailer and take it to the car wash when it's dirty and use the pressure wand and soap does a nice job. Thanks for your video...

Poor design by Troybuilt to make blade threads external thus allowing for more moisture to seize bolts. So my thinking by adding anti seize to threads this will improve removal process next time!

@@petedymond Well I don’t own one but my neighbor does & it had been a year since the last time he changed his blades out. So he asked if I could help out, no luck removing them. So I sprayed it down with some PB blaster then about 3-4 hours later tried agin but this time I had a electric powered impact gun well that got the job done. But what noticed was because the shaft threads are external this allows moisture to penetrate the threads with the bolt on causing threads to rust. Thus making the job of removing bolts a tuff job indeed. Bolts that screws into the shaft are better protected vs the way Troy built made there’s!
