Comparing what Deeney did to what EtH said about an overpaid £70m Sancho is pretty silly. EtH was asked a question about why Sancho wasn't in the squad against Arsenal, his response was simply that he didn't train as well as the others, shock horror considering his well known history of behaving like a manchild. Deeney on the other hand went in on his League 2 players, slating them way beyond what managers normally do.

Also consider that ETH has been in the role for longer, sent Sancho away for a few months and clearly felt that speaking in public was the last resort. Rubbish comparison.

Personally wasn’t in favour of his appointment at FGR however it was clear from his first game as manager that there was a shift from the players(which probably points to the players underperforming for the last 3 managers rather than a TD effect)…each game thereafter seemed to bring improvements whilst foolish errors costing results ( red cards, missed penalty, cheap penalty given away etc) but I suspect TD had spoken to the players prior to the Harrogate match because quite frankly the performance was the poorest for some months. FD had a nightmare and honestly looked like he was trying to play that badly.A majority reverting to being unwilling, unable and unimpressive. These are alleged professionals, they are paid handsomely for their 2/3 training sessions and 1/2 matches per week. Some have behaved like wage thieves and if they’re prepared to do that in public then they deserve to be called out in public. If you turn up to work late continually you disrespect your colleagues, the owner, the manager and the fans so clearly you don’t care that much. There are a number of these players that have played under 5 managers at FGR without lifting performance levels for more than 5/6 games. They are the issue, poor recruitment is the issue, lack of direction from the top is an issue. DV has bankrolled the club but inefficiency leading to yet another sacking.Well there are about 20 of the playing staff to let go too!!! Cheers Troy and best of luck going forward.

In the end Deaney can be as contrite as he wants to be. He broke the most basic rule in football management. If you can't get that simple exercise right then he won't get much else right.

Give him some respect for putting himself out there trying a management job off of retiring so recently you can’t hate on that I doubt any haters could say if they was in his job and went and did that would actually do it
