Baker is a very underrated Joker. He had some big shoes to fill playing that role,and he knocked it right outta the ballpark.

Actually Origins has come to be my favorite of them all. Asylum and City were awesome and captured the classical essence of Batman flawlessly; but the general tone in Origins and how they reworked the characters and the world... man, I wish they separated it from the rest and made an entire trilogy out of it.

He told me last weekend that this was the first time he publicly did it too so he was so unbelievably nervous about doing it in front of everyone and the cameras so when it was silent the whole time he was worried that people hated it and then the applause happened and he was so relieved/ shocked

Rekettyelovag Nah, not really. He does a great job working with what Hamill did with the character and keeping that voice is important for future Joker roles. Hamill did the Joker's voice in so many different projects...it's not like a game series where someone voices a character for 2-5 games max then gets replaced (David Hayter, Snake). The voice fits the character, it always has...sure the live-action ones can differ but as far as animated/video game joker goes...this is the voice it needs.

He doesn't nail Mark Hamill exactly, but I think it's a good thing He adds his own flair to it and it works perfectly for his younger portrayal of the Joker in the universe where Hamill plays the older version

He doesn't need to but it's close enough that it continues what came before while putting his own subtle spin on it. The cadence is perfect.

I love how he says "Like you have it all memorized" in front of an audience that most definitely has the entire monologue memorized

Eh... hard to say. There's alot of actors that end up going into voice acting, but you don't see a ton of voice actors moving to live action.... I dunno if it's cuz they're not as good or they're just not "camera ready" aka good looking enough. Like radio people lol.

Nobody's gonna touch Mark Hamill's work as the Joker but Troy Baker is not only an amazing Joker voice, he's an amazing voice actor. period. He sounds like what Mark Hamill's Joker would sound if he was younger and I'm so impressed with how Troy was able to capture the voice of his predecessor. In fact, I watched Assault on Arkham and I though it was Mark who voiced Joker and then I checked the credits, it was Troy all along. That's how good Baker can channel Hamill

You only need to watch Batman: The Animated Series to hear an actual younger version of Hamill's Joker. Baker is pretty good at doing a Hamill impression, but you can still tell who is who. Baker lacks the pops in his syllables that Hamill has, and the tone and timbre of the voice are notably different with Hamill sound a wee bit more nasally.

Him and Mark are so close its unreal.

The fact the this one man can portray very different characters from the Joker, to Sam Drake to Joel is the epitomy of talent! I am so glad Troy Baker exists

How emotional he got at the end shows you not only what kind of a person he is, but also how seriously he takes his craft. He's one of the best for a reason... he believes in the material and commits to a character like they're as real as you and me. That's why there are a ton of voices needed... and only a select few to fill the void. When the bar is set so high, you only take the ones that have to duck the least.

I love Mark Hamills version of Joker. But Troy Baker takes up the mantle of Joker very well in my opinion. In a perfect world, Mark Hamill would have voiced the clown prince of crime forever, but I played Arkham Origins and Joker was one of the things in the game I thought was done really well.

***** For me, it was mostly the atmosphere. It felt really bland and some design choices (like fast travel) felt a bit tacked on. It's not a bad game, just didn't have the same attention to detail as Asylum or City.

What an artist. Propably one of the best candidates for live action Joker

No one can replace Mark Hamill in terms of the exact same sound, but people need to get over the fat that he's done. Troy I thought did a good job in putting his own spin to the voice, despite them both being very similar. He just sounded like a younger Joker, which they were aiming for.

Wow. They should have hired Troy to do Joker in Injustice. Heck, he was already doing Nightwing and Sinestro, Joker would have been the icing on the cake

All these people bitching about whether mark or troy are better, cant we just admit their both great? Mark IS the joker and no matter who takes over in future, mark has been incredible. That said cant we just be grateful that while we didnt get mark for origins we got the best game voice actor around at the minute? Just listen to him here?

+James Black i would say Mark IS The Joker he captures it perfectly. BUT if he had to pass on the torch the only option would be Troy. He just captures the essence of Marks Portrayal and gives it a little bit of himself as well. absolute genious both of them

I think both are fantastic. when Mark does decide to retire the character Troy would fit right in. though I also liked John DiMaggio's performance from Under The Red Hood.

Also the fact that Troy baker could have a one person dialogue between the Joker and Batman is a huge plus, I think.

Troy Baker is amazing at that voice, that was awesome. He, John DiMaggio and Mark Hamill are the three best voiceovers of the Joker

***** So what, really? Hamill is treated as the definitive portrayal of the Joker in all media, regardless of the love for Ledger's Joker which typically comes from just the movie fans (I love him too, but I don't think he's the best). To be able to mimic him so closely is an incredible achievement and what fans wanted to see, to continue on this same Joker we're so used to hearing. In honesty, people would be complaining if he strayed from Hamill's Joker, so he can't win. Let's not forget given this is part of the Arkham series it wouldn't make sense to have a different Joker voice, but I think he's still brilliant either way.

Troy's voice is a gift from God. Definitely my favourite voice actor.

I didn't think I would ever say this but he recited that better than Mark Hamill in the killing Joke film. Much better

I noticed he changed the order of the lines slightly at the end of the monologue but I like his way better actually :D

When I played Arkham Orogins I didn't even know Hammill hadn't been the voice till I saw the credits

My personal favourites are Mark Hamil in the Animated Series, and John DiMaggio in Under the Red Hood.

I swear, Troy Baker, Nolan North and Roger-Craig Smith are in everything together.

This guy has voiced Tim Drake/Robin, Harvey Dent/Two Face, The Joker, Bruce Wayne/Batman. He’s that talented.
