A good test for that products effectiveness would be to make up a batch of flavourless bread paste and add a jar of that "hatchery dust" to it.

I hear what you’re saying about confidence, unfortunately I’m on the other side of that right now, skunked my last 4 outings. Last time I went out with the attitude ‘I’m not gonna catch anything’, hopefully this weekend will change all that :) gotta stay positive!

Hey man loved the video! I'm a fly fisherman and fish the river alot. I realized on ur first set when u missed a fish u set the hook upstream. When fishing a river you'll probably hook more fish if u hook downstream instead of up. The fish are facing upstream so if u pull the hook upstream there's a chance you could pull the hook right out. Just thought it might help! Beautiful fish man!

Looks like an interesting bait. I always like to find new ways to catch trout. I may try it with my dough baits in the future. But, Power Bait brown trout nuggets are great for stocked fish. They look somewhat like the brown pellets they're used to being fed at the hatchery. I've caught so many trout with them that there have been times I had to stop fishing because I would have exceeded my daily limit.

Just buy a couple of pounds of trout pellets online then grind them up in a coffee grinder until you reach your desired consistency. Then use an empty power bait jar or egg jar to keep it in and dip your baits. Endless supply.

We used to have much larger crowds in Va and NC than we see these days. I'm 54 and ad a teenager u had to be there at daylight to get a good spot. Nowadays we have some crowd but it's down to about a third of what it was 30 years ago. Hinting and fishing culture nationwide is on the decline. Not so much for WVA which is good but crowds are an issue for sure. Good luck

You are saying jig hooks will stop gut hook? I am having a heck of a time releasing my trout ,every fish is about gut hooked

They must be really hungry. Sometimes it's hard to keep them from swallowing it. If you notice I set the hook super fast and still managed to get one down deep. Some days I'll go all day with a clean hook and some days I gut hook every one.

It seems like every time I use dough bait they swallow it whole, and I have to keep all of em. It has come to the point where I just don't use it unless I am eating them. Looked like you caught quite a few lip-hooked. Any tips/tricks? Bigger hook, maybe?
