Just wanted to thank you for showing the cables behind the tower. I have not put the cable in behind the graphics card. No other video shows the placement ( I thought it went in the top monitor area) being totally new at pc - my first build. Oh and the front panel switches are a pain in the aspect. Clearing the CMOS - remove the battery and wait a few minutes to put it back in. Now the system runs woohoo. Waiting on 2 x 4 GB Corsair Vengance DDR3 Ram cards before I finish the build. Brilliant video btw.

The problem was the actual HDMI cable I was using came with the Xbox 1, and I swapped cables and it posted right up and I was so pissed but relieved at the same time. I would had used a DP cable if I had a monitor that high end but for now I have to use my TV and that was the issue. I hope this helps.

Brian, thanks for all the tips.. I’m wondering if you could suggest what I do next? I’ve had the Win10 64 bit PC with Amd 2700Ryzen cpu and high end Graphics card and 16gb ram on 4 sticks running reliably for 2 months since I put in new Ram and the new Graphics card . The problem is I have no HDMI signal from either display port on the graphics card and none on the motherboard’s Display port either. The boot up sequence as viewed from front panel Drive Indicate LEDs looks and sounds Normal the hard drives are spinning up and it looks like the M2 Nvme drive is booting normally, the optical USB mouse led looks normal, I see no activity on the Kybd or more importantly the Ethernet connector LEDs. I looked at the Power Supply voltages with a DMM and they look normal, the RGB leds on the motherboard all cycle thru they’re colors normally but I don’t hear the Beeps I used to hear upon POST. I reseated the graphics card, it’s power connector, the motherboard connector and will soon tear everything apart and try too get it to Display anything as I boot up cause rite now all I get is No HDMI Signal. Any thoughts would be most welcome.. regards JimS An update.. this problem turned out to be corrected by swapping the DDR4 RAM between slots.. .. a long ordeal but it’s now fixed

After replacing the motherboard, my PC worked fine - the fans were spinning like it should, and everything looked and was heard alright in the case - except it didn't give any signal to the monitor. Thanks mate. I'm running a mining rig and this morning found it on a black screen but powered on. Tried everything I could think of including swapping out the power supply which is a mission on a mining rig with multiple GPUs. One of the first things I tried was moving around the RAM, but what I didnt notice on the first look was that a tiny drop of oil from the GPU suspended above the RAM had dropped directly into the RAM holder and was shorting. Cleaned that out and wiped the RAM card and she booted up perfectly.

A pc keep giving alarming beeps or siren but still work fine. Usually first thing to do is to replace the PC case and install the RAM in different slots, but some RAM stick are the “leader” stick that must be in the slot 1 to make a pc POST as the other sticks of RAM “follower” sticks that couldn’t POST all by itself. It may not be the PSU has fault, but replace the PSU may fix it if all the fans works fine when there was no POST. Replace mobo’s battery too. In many cases no PC parts has fault, it just need to replace the PC case, RAM, PSU, battery with another working PC parts, so after doing all that, you ended up with 2 working PC system and not a single faulty PC part. May need to replace the PC case because some pc case’s back panel is curved outward and need pushed inward to put in the screw to secure the graphic card, so after some years or weeks of use, it pulled things out of place, bow and arrow theory … …

Very frustrating to say the least as the quality of new hardware is just garbage across the board . I am very leery to even try to do another build after this last one .

Hello, if you build a new pc for first time and if you use ryzen cpu this is for you. A Ryzen processor without the suffix 'G' (in model number) needs a Graphics card (GPU) and you can't output it to screen without one. So for a normal user you'll definitely need a Graphics card not only for BIOS update but for using it too. Ryzen processors* (as mentioned above)comes without integrated graphics card which is needed to display to the monitor.

I got a used enermax 535 supply for a acer m3910 motherboard. With that computer the fans spin but nothing else happens. When I put the original psu back on it immediately boots. The enermax works on at least 3 other motherboards which also had 1 P4 lead. I think it was because of one of: too much ripple, out of range voltage (but they seemed pretty normal), amperage messing up some circuity. It is frustrating.

I know this video is old. But I was putting together a test bench. AMD 3300x with a B550 msi tomahawk single 8GB ram stick. Upon powering everything seemed like it was ready to go, so ezdug feature meant that CPU, Dram & VGA led test would pass & move to next test however when it got to boot led it would stay there & nothing would ever post no display no nothing, Also 3300x has no graphics so gpu plugged to attempt display output. So after hours of nothing working, I pop a different B550 board from asrock & success, everything worked. Same ram, same cpu same cooler, same old gpu just changed out the board. So any recommendations or advice or explanation what might be wrong with the board. I plan to order a diff CPU like a 3600x n see if it works. But in the mean time I’m looking for answers

@@cynthiaandoh9575 Yes I did but I can't say for certain what the problem was. I took it all apart and assembled it again outside of the case with the motherboard sitting on the motherboard box. I tried to post without the graphics card as I'd read that it should post without it if only to indicate that it can't recognise the graphics card but again I didn't get a single beep. With the graphics card installed it posted and after reinstalling everything back into the case, it worked fine. I did have an issue with one motherboard standoff where the screw refused to screw into it. With the standoff and the screw in my hand they would happily fit together but with the motherboard between them, they refused to screw together. I resorted to screwing them to the motherboard whilst holding the motherboard and then screwing the standoff to the case when installing the motherboard to the case ... If you know what I mean? Anyway, I can't say for sure that the standoff was the problem as I thought I had secured it the first time but I definitely made a secure connection the second time and this time it posted and everything went smoothly after that. It may not be your problem but I'd double check that the standoffs are all tightly connected to the case and when the motherboard is installed, all the screws are all tightly screwed to the motherboard. Good luck!

I tried turning it off and back on a couple of times same result and I swapped out the HDMI cable and used another port on the TV still no joy. I have a mini ITX system that uses an external PSU and my 1st thought was is the power supply playing up and luckilly I have a standard ATX power supply that I have tested and will try that very soon having removed the board from it's very tiny case. You mentioned ram could be an issue here I test that as well but I would like to know in situations like mine what would be the common problems that cause it and could it be CPU related as I use onboard graphics.

Hold the screwdriver on the 2 pins sticking out where it says CMOS on the motherboard usually on the lower right or left for 15 seconds then try to turn it back on. I was getting a boot loop for 5 hours tried literally everything re-seating ram, everything.... and this is the only thing that worked.

I have tried the same PSU in my old build and it works perfectly power's the hole system no problem at all, but in my new build it won't even spin the PSU fan. I have tried jumping it and have made sure the case power button is in the correct order, it's not the power lead as I have checked that on multiple occasions and there is power in the wall socket, I would appreciate it of someone could lead me in the right direction of diognosing the issue, thanks much appreciated.

Hi! I have a laptop connected to a monitor. Everything worked fine until a couple of days ago. My problem is that when I start the laptop the monitor don’t get any signal. When I disconnect the HDMI cable the laptops monitor turns on and works fine. When I connect the cable again and search for a signal on the monitor it works perfect (the laptops monitor go black as expected). Until I don’t use the computer for a while and the monitor goes into power save mode and I need to disconnect the HDMI cable again for it to work. So. Everything works great as long as the monitor hasn’t been off. What can be the problem?

I had a PC with no post issue, and even though the power supply was working, and I checked the voltages under load, it turned out to BE the POWER SUPPLY!... Make sure you put a higher power one when you install a new PS...Cheers!
