“Ser” is probably the king of kings of verbs. You cannot start to say almost anything without this verb. For this reason it is very important for us to cover it and give you a way into it. Why was it - "Les toco el timbre" for I'll ring the doorbell. Shouldn't that translate to I'll ring THEIR doorbell ?

Those pronouns are a little bit annoying. That "les" is in regard to "you" (ustedes) not the doorbell. So, for example, if you're going to ring the doorbell to one friend you'd say: TE toco el timbre. I hope this helps! - Maura =)=)=)
