A problem with some pump styles is that they are not self priming and the diaphragms can get stuck therefore becoming unreliable. Pump needs to be close to the tank and low to have positive pressure on the inflow otherwise they can be affected by air locks and cavitation. Good pipes and taps will also stop the motor pressure pulsing when not in use.

I use Seaflo pumps for work, sandbagging and pumping dirty water from pressure washing roofs and driveways.... I've had 1 in a couple of years of regular and hard use. Yes mine is bigger than yours, but my point is you won't be disappointed. I too went for MSA instead of Clearview mirrors just for that look. I also like with MSA it's one piece of glass instead of the convex bottom. I prefer the 1 piece and just adding a big convex piece from the auto shop in the bottom corner. You won't regret the MSA.

Don’t go the MSA/clear views etc (the ones that make you drill extra holes) Ronny, it was my biggest regret with my troopy! Totally agree, the little square ones are puss and was one of the first things I upgraded on mine, but I went with the Lexus rectangle ones from Panel House (straight from Dubai) which were perfect, great vison and looked amazing. I then brought a caravan and “upgraded” to the new Clearviews, didn’t like them, swapped them for the MSA’s, still didn’t like them and ended up going back to the panel house ones but have now got two holes plugged on the doors. Don’t just take my word, speak to Mac Preston about it.

Absolutely agree Ronny, lots of people just smack in huge inverters, because they will so called ' need it ', but its not necessary. Flat glass side mirrors are downright dangerous especially when you have massive blind spots like on your rig. A pair of side view mirrors I really like is the one on the Mercedes CLK W208. Despite being small, they give a very wide spot due to the outer side being curved. The picture is distorted but you know something is coming behind you regardless of where it is.

Mate I'd be careful the grease nipples don't foul on the rear tank as your leafs straighten out while flexing. The nipple behind you head at 12:03 looks awfully close to the side of the tank.

I'd hate to be that person, but... did you consider the legal ramifications of installing the long range tank without a compliance plate? I'm sure like most of 4x4 enthusiasts (myself included) many of modifications that are done we don't think about, or are unaware of the legality of them.

He’s already got it mod plated for the passenger seating changes. I’m pretty sure mod plates are not required for long range fuel tanks installations (in Australia)

You cannot compensate for too little solar panels by a bigger battery.

Troopy handles better than the 79 because of weight distribution, rather than wheelbase. 79 has too much weight behind the rear axle.

    Pump 'intermediate' or 'intermittent'?

I think he said intermediate because the pump is between the tank and the outlet, so it’s between two things. 😂

I always thought you were being ambitious with a 100watt solar panel with 2 fridges and charging all that camera gear Get a 180watt panel minimum and enough battery to get through a few days of cloud cover

Hi. The reason they utilise that hose you removed is because it is recognised "food grade" hose. So I did the research, glad to report silicon is also food grade, so I'll opt to it for future works. Thanks. Research result. "Because silicone hoses are inert, form an effective barrier, are resistant to temperature fluctuations, and can safely come into direct contact with foods and drinks without contaminating them, they are a great choice for maintaining high levels of consumer safety." Honestly, not a big fan of the 70 series after owning a 76. Useless off-road, dangerous whilst towing. There's my biggest regret, purchasing one. Whilst I owned it I considered lots of things to rectify the misgivings, every suspension provider promised they had the answer, TJM fitout was not the answer. Considered track correction with rear coils but not willing to gamble on result so eventually said no & opted out. Now I always knew it was a wheel base thing, so considered a 78 but then overheard a chap describe his to an enthusiast "it's like driving an old boat up the river, you're constantly correcting it" and thats exactly as the 76 was, I've never heard it descibed so well. So new vehicle (at the time -Jan 2017) was a GU as has good wheel base, correct track & coils all-round, it's an awesome wagon. "Federal" (oz wide) Pedders GVM upgrade prior to initial registration, giving me required payload, just luv it. ECU tuned, tows van as well it chipped 76 ever did now, except it tells the van where we are going, not the van dictating what route is best as in 76 case, haha 😂. Dont be offended, horses for coarses, isn't that the saying?
