Me and Woody.EXE will have our first Trooping the colour next year just less than a year from becoming Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth III.EXE. It will take place on July 15th, 2024

Adjutant of the Parade Lincoln Jopp, later became the CO of the Scots Guards He was the commanding officer of the 2011 Trooping the Colour!!!

Commanding Officer, not quite Colonel of the Regiment. That is the Duke of Kent.

Not quite. Lincoln Jopp was CO of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards. Duke of Kent is the regimental colonel.

Why don’t the Scots Guards have a drum corp anymore?

They did have a Corps of Drums. The Corps of drums was around until 1998, but was reformed again in 2001. In 2003 1SG Corps of Drums was disbanded by their Commanding Officer when 1SG were given an armoured infantry role which was previously held by the Irish Guards. F company does keep a side drummer, but they all came from 1SG Pipes and Drums. F company now has a pipe drummer. The Scots Guards still keep the drums in a storage room or next to their pipe drums for display. The Scots Guard will reform it when they return to London District. The drummers in their pipes and drums can’t play a side drum, they would have to take lessons at Catterick. With their side drums being old Premier drums chances are they would purchase new drums from the British Drum Co like the Irish Guards did.

@@youtubeaccount5738Those drummers use highland drums, so they are trained at the army school of bagpipe music and highland drumming in Edinburgh. That would mean they would have to get certified to play a side drum at the army school of ceremonial at Catterick. Also to add. Since the MoD is soon forming 2 new Irish Guards incremental companies from the 1st Battalion Irish Guards, I would like to see 4 side drummers from each of the 5 incremental companies, so that they could take part with the bands at Trooping the Colour.
