I have owned a new 900 GT Pro for 4 months now and agree to what you’re saying. It’s got 11,000km on the clock now. Super practical and fast. I’m using it for daily rides to work but also to explore the countryside. Last summer I took it across Germany and Austria to Italy, it was a blast taking it up the Alpine passes.

I’m in Az and debating between the t900 the t1200 and the gs. I’ve got a 60 mile commute and most of it is on the 202 and the 60. Two up comfort is a major deciding factor as well, and that’s why the big boys are on the list.

@zteacherr5992 my 45min commutes each way to work are pretty enjoyable on the 900 as a single rider. I've only had a passenger twice so I can't really provide much input there. Obviously the 1200 will provide some nice bit of power and would be great two up I'd think

The feedback from my wife about the seat is that its as good even better than the GS as its flat and wide and does not slope down. The rear grab handles are also big and easy to reach. The bigger bikes are going to give you more oomph but its also heavier, this was one of my main reasons of going lighter. I cannot complain about the power and the comfort as this one has all the bells needed for two up touring where the GS and the 1200 Tiger start out heavy and then you have two people on with bags to add to that extra weight. Hope this helps but go and test ride one if you can they sound sweet.

I'm looking at getting this bike but on my test ride I could feel heat on the left side and also from the radiator vents (66F degrees during ride). I'm also in AZ and am concerned I won't be able to ride it b/c of this. Have you had any issues?@@exoneer6036

I have owned for many years en cruiser, and work int and owned en small ofraod bike, I decided to by this type off bike again.after read so much good reviews I purchase the black 900gt spring 2021 . Of course there are maybe some small things . but Howe more km you drive , how more you gona love this beautiful machine with almost everything on it. there is one thing I agree even more with you Andre , the tiger invited me just to drive the whole day , there is the seat problem coming around the corner for me to , I have read that triump have a comfort seat on the tiger 900 but I don't now how good it is.

Awesome I am glad you are enjoying the bike. But yes you can swing your leg around this one and fill the tank and just go. Just so comfortable and easy to ride. Its a very comfortable bike and place to be behind the handlebars. Thanks for watching and the comment. Hope you get your seat sorted out as I know there are loads of aftermarket gel seats. Good luck and enjoy.

Andre, the Odometer is located as you described with the TPMS menu BUT, It's only visible on the other display setups bar the one you had selected in this video. Change your display to another "all in one" display and go to TPMS menu where you get the option to scroll and you will see odometer in the service window top right of screen.

Great stuff this is a super nice bike to ride in most of the weather. Super smooth and with rain mode and the lean angle traction control you have all the bits to keep you safe. But still take care the cold days and then wet days create black ice on the back roads and you cannot always see it. Have a great time on the bike.

Hi Andre! Great review of the Tiger 900 GT Pro. I'm considering this bike as a replacement for my aging R1200GS. Are you able to comment on the difference between the two of them? Also, many have commented about the heat coming from the radiators onto the rider's leg, especially the left side. Perhaps living in a colder climate this wouldn't be an issue. I'm in California so it does get very hot sometimes where I ride. Have you experienced this engine radiator heat issue? Thanks again.

Hi there, thank you for the comment. I am also a die hart BMW GS fan but I started to spead my interests in the other brands and man this Tiger is a great bike. I am only 178cm so the big GS bikes are great for the open roads but as soon as you want something a bit more nimble and lighter this is a great option. I had the 850GS too some time back and its a great bike but the Tiger sounds and rides better for me. Most soul if that is something you can get in a bike. The bike has enough power for two up and can cover solid miles without feeling like it needs more power or comfort. The seat and screen worked perfect for me on the motorway at around 70 -80mph. I have not had any vibrations at those speeds. For the heat coming off the engine I have not experience this. Yes the UK is way cooler but its never been a problem if I compared this to the BMW's headers being hot on my legs and steam coming off it when standing in the rain. Its a free revving, easy riding and sounding bike as that is also important and in the red or blue it looks really nice. The lights are also good for night riding. For me it was the weight and getting something a bit lighter but not having to compromise too much on the power and usability. Hope this helps and shout if you have more questions. They should not have dropped the old 800GS hehe

Hi there and thank you for subscribing, I had the 850GS that is now the new 900GS. Liked the GS but the engine for me was a bit on the bland side. This engine has more soul if that makes sense. Sounds better and for me smoother than the BMW. I also had the older 700 GS and the 650 Dakar. The 700 was a bit too tall and on the motorway it was weaving or easier said its just not as planted. The 650 Dakar was a great bike but if you lob two people on it with luggage it was a bit of a slower ride. I also test rode the Tiger 850 sport and the only reason I went with the 900 GT Pro was that they gave me a super good deal at that time. Great easy to ride all round bike that covers most of the riding and its got all the bells needed to keep you comfortable in the winter times. Hope this helps.

hello André I'm Paulo from Portugal and I've had a tiger 900 gt pro for 7 months. From what I can see in the video, I notice that you uses an iphone and in that aspect I've been facing some connectivity problems, such as seeing messages, which I've never been able to see, and with regarding to listen music, I don't control the volume, I can only change the track. I've done about 9000km (+-6000miles), I feel vibrations above 6500 rpm, but nothing that bothers me too much. I really like the bike, I just hope that triumph improves the app. Like very much yours vídeos. Regards

Many thanks for the feedback and comment Paulo. Wow that is some good miles for 7 months and I am happy that you like the bike. It is such a great and easy to use bike. I must say I only use my iphone to use the app called Calimoto. This helps with routing and finding new route that I would usually not ride because I stick to my usual roads. My other phone is in my pocket and this one is connected to the bike. But I only use that to see the stats of the bike. I know from a few people that they are having problems with the stats and the functions of the app. But this is as you say down to Triumph and how they update the app. As long as they keep on improving we should get most of the bugs sorted out. I know that the dealers can check the bikes firmware and update where needed as its always good to be on the latest version. Good luck and happy riding.

Would be interested to know if you (or any other owners) have experienced vibration in bars/grips and pegs (meaning to the point the vibes become annoying/distracting) when running for sustained periods at 75 to 80 mph (120 to 130 km/h). This is something lots of people mention but it seems some are either hyper-sensitive to it or it's an actual issue with the bike due to T-plank firing order. Also, is there a top end speed you think the 900 GT Pro begins to struggle with in 6th gear. Thanks for your great content!

  • @Andre-Mostert

    @Andre-Mostert

Thank you for the comment. I must say on my version I can sit on the motorway at 70-80 mph without having vibrations, I am comparing this to the BMW XR I tested a few years ago when they came out and at 70mph you could really feel the vibrations through the handlebars. It was bad and it was even worse because this is the speed you usually ride at. At that time I went for another GS. So the Tiger does not have that on my model and I have done a good two hours on the motorway between 70-80.

Many thanks for the feedback, the only reason I went for the Tiger 660 and now the Tenere is that I wanted to try different bikes. Its a problem I have and the doctor said there is no cure lol. If I have to compare the Tenere to theTiger now that I have done just over 1000 miles on the Tenere I would say the Tiger is way more comfortable and lower for my 178cm height. Its also got more poke and sounds awesome. The seat is also way more comfy. I might even be back to Triumph I just promised my wife I will keep the bike longer. Hope this helps.

@@Andre-Mostert thanks for the reply. I share your pain, I am similarly afflicted and as you say no known cure. We will just have to continue to suffer and scan the dealerships for some temporary respite. I hope to test ride a 900 soon but will look at the 850 as well as I’m not sure I need all the features of the go pro. Thanks for the insight. 👍

@@paulhartwell8460 this is a good plan. I did my test ride on the standard Tiger 850 and found that the base bike was more than I needed. I would have added heated grips and hand guards from the start. But I did not really use the heated seats, the cruise control is nice but on B roads its not much use. So like you say check out the base bike and get a few bits. You can alway add bits on as you think you going to need it. Rather spend the extra money on other bits. Maybe an end can. Keep me posted what you think.

I actually wanted the 850 Sport as I thought that bike for the price was better for what I wanted to get out of the bike. I would have just installed the factory heated grips and hand guards but they did not have in stock and the waiting list was super long. This one came up and it was a demo bike and the dealer was keen to move it on for not much more than the 850 Sport at that time. So I jumped on the deal. To have the quickshifter and all the bells is nice but I usually set it and forget it. The stuff I use the most is the heated grips and having the handguards to keep the wind off your hands. The rest of the stuff can also be added to the 850 Sport but at a lower price. I also did not mind the 850 Sport's rims as it looks good with the bike. If I where you take out both, it might be interesting. I did the test ride on the 850 first and then bought the 900.
